Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Day 85 in the Year of Our Lord 2012

Hope you all had a wonderful day as you attended services in the house of the LORD today!  We had a good day!  The sun was shining brightly, even if the air was a bit chilly, and it was a beautiful day.  There were just a few sprinkles here and there.  Nothing to dampen the spirits of the LORD's day!  I hope you enjoy going to the house of the LORD to fellowship with your brothers and sisters in the LORD around the Word of God.  It is such a time of refreshing after being out and about in the world all week.

I would ask that you continue to pray for the man in our church who almost lost his leg towards the end of last year.........or was it the first of this year?  He has been doing a bit better the last couple of days.  Doesn't seem to be as depressed and he has been able to go outside on his porch to sit some on the pretty days.  That's enough to make anyone have a better disposition after being flat on your back for as long as he has been.  As the LORD brings him to your remembrance, please pray for Gary.  His wife is still working, so it has been hard on her going to work and then coming home to take care of him.  The ladies of the church fixed them a nice dinner of spiral ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, green beans, deviled eggs, cole slaw, broccoli casserole, dessert, rolls and beverage and their son took it all home with him from church.  That gave her a bit of a break and should have plenty of left overs to help her out some this week.  Thanks to all the ladies that helped with this and special thanks to those of you who thought of the idea!

For our dinner today, I fixed some rice and chicken in the oven during church.  So all I had to do was heat up some green beans to go with it.

This afternoon, I finished reading another of Thyra Ferre Bjorn's books, "Dear Papa."  I forgot to tell you that I finished "Mama's Way" which was about prayer.  You really must read her books!  They read really fast and for me to say that, most of you will be able to ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppp right through them!  :D

I also did some knitting on Abigail's little skirt.  I'm almost finished with the ruffle then I will have to stitch the seam.

I also worked on a scrapbook page (having stolen another picture from Liz's facebook page) about Ryan receiving his soccer ribbon.

Now, it is time to do a bit more knitting and then I am going to bed with a headache.  Until tomorrow.....have a great week!
