Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

But if not..................

Tim and I enjoyed his day off today.  It began with me going to Walmart to return some Great Value items that were bad, which I have never had happen before.  We bought a bag of their wavy potato chips that were too oily and were stale!  Also purchased a box of multigrain saltines, but did not notice that the box had been mashed, apparently, from the shape the crackers were in!  Almost all of them were crushed and the one sleeve Tim opened was stale.  Another sleeve had been popped open, probably during the crushing.  I could not believe how many people were already in the customer service line that early in the morning!  It took almost an hour to get the refund and pick up a few groceries we needed!

We did 3 of our regular 4 thrift stores.  For some reason, Tim has decided he doesn't like Mega Thrift any more.  I will have to start going by myself, I guess.  I think we only bought one item for $1!  For lunch, since my tooth is still sore and I cannot put much pressure on it, we went to Applebees for their soup and sandwich lunch.  I had the Fiesta Corn Chowder soup and Four Cheese Grilled sandwich.  It included a little dipping bowl of their Tomato Basil soup to dip my grilled cheese into!  It was all yummy!  Tim had a Turkey sandwich and a soup that had a tomato base, but I don't remember the name of it.  Then, we had a Brownie Bite ala Mode for dessert!  YUM!

Tim wasn't ready to give up on the thrift stores yet, so after lunch we went to the big Goodwill downtown on University Blvd and then the Goodwill over in Walkertown before heading for home.

Tonight we went to Ruby Tuesday where he has been wanting to go for a couple of weeks now.  I got a great photo of us, too!  :D

At around 8:30, Chance called to see if he could come to my house.  I told him that he could, but asked how he would get there and asked him if he had wings to fly?  He said no.  He had just gotten a hair cut and looked so cute!  He is one busy little guy, that is for sure!  He doesn't hardly sit still long enough to talk to us on Skype.  Little Thad is about totally opposite of Chance.  They are growing up way too fast!

And, speaking of growing up way too fast, take a look at Adalina Grace, who is almost 4 months old.  She is a cutie!  We just don't make ugly babies!  :D

Friday's Facebook Bible study:
Romans 15:12-13 “And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

The Old Testament confirmed who Jesus was – the Root of Jesse, who gives the Gentiles hope. Through the Holy Spirit’s power, we have hope, but it requires belief. What things do you need to believe God about, with all joy and peace that you may abound in His Hope?

My thoughts:  I need to believe that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose,” Romans 8:28, especially as Tim is getting ready to enter the hospital next week for the second round of treatments for his melanoma.  I am having doubts about this treatment as the lump in his cheek becomes more and more visible and other lumps around his body do not seem to be shrinking but enlarging.  Isn’t the purpose of this treatment to make those shrink?  Is it possible the lumps are not responding to the treatment?  We knew from the beginning that the quoted statistic was only a 15% success rate.  Is the Lord going to perform a miracle on Tim’s behalf and heal him after this second round of treatments?  Lord, I sooooo want to believe that You are going to heal Tim.  Please help my unbelief and help me to trust entirely upon You!

But if not……..I will still love and serve You!

You sure do have gorgeous grandbabies, but it's not hard to guess why - that is a nice looking couple in that picture! ;-)

See you soon for our skype!
