Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Battle of the Bulge!

It's time!  Actually, it is WAY past time!  The Battle of the Bulge began today!  And, the subtitle for this post could easily be, "I'm STARVING!"  :D  I will be going to bed early tonight just so I am not tempted to eat everything in site!

I'm really not enthusiastic about this process, but I have to do something!  My middle is looking like my mother's did.

So, I decided to get started with a crash course type of diet.....The Dolly Parton Diet, LOL!  Here is the cabbage soup from the diet.  Tim and I have always loved cabbage soup!  So, this was not hard to stomach at all!  And, I can eat as much of it as I want!  :D
The pot ended up being about half full after the cabbage cooked down!

I added Italian seasoning and the soup was yummy!  Tim added chicken to his bowl.

This soup is the main stay of the diet which lasts 7 days.  Along with the soup I am allowed to have the following (the numbers represent the day):
1.  All the fruit I want, except bananas
2.  All the veggies I want, particularly green leafy veggies, but stay away from dried beans, peas and corn
3.  All the fruits and veggie I want (as in days 1 and 2) except no potato allowed.
4.  Bananas and skim milk, up to 8 bananas and 8 glasses of milk.
5.  10-12 oz. Beef,  and tomatoes. At least 8 glasses of water.
6.  Beef and veggies, no potatoes.
7.  Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables.

I also went to Planet Fitness to walk on the treadmill.  Starting out slowly at 2 mph for 30 minutes.  THAT was WAY too slow!  Tomorrow I will kick it up a notch or two!

Looking forward to making some home made V8 juice tomorrow!

Nite!
