Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Snow Day

Well Tim did not want to venture out onto the roads today to do our regular thrifting, so we had a snow day and stayed home.

Last night before bed I looked out the front door again to see how much snow had collected in the past 2 hours.  It was coming down very heavily and collecting quickly!

You can tell how heavily it was coming down!

The trees were already covered before 12:30 a.m.

Ominous looking in the glow of the street light.

Out the back door.  A blanket of white for the night!

Tim said we got 4-5" but I think if it had not been so wet and heavy there would have been lots more.  But it really packed down.  These are pictures I took right after Tim went over to the church to work at 8:10 a.m.
It certainly is beautiful!  Glad I didn't have to get out in it, however!

The trash men were scheduled to pick up the trash yesterday morning, but as you can see that did not happen.

This is a brick sitting out in the yard on top of a sewer hole.  It is hard to tell how much snow is piled on top of it.
The snow on the driveway and streets was gone by 3:00 this afternoon.  Also the snow that covered the branches was mostly gone.

The snow shovel is in sad shape!

Those clouds still look full of something!

Yes, God can smash into the hardest of hearts and clean up the black of sin and make it white as snow!  Isaiah 1:18 - "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Tim started running a fever today.  It was 99.3 at 5:00.  When he went to bed at 9 o'clock it was 102.  Prayers appreciated!  Thanking you in advance!

Nite!
