Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Visitation

One of the ladies from church went with me to visit a shut-in.  The shut-in has a disease that causes her to feel like she is on fire when she gets in the cold.  So, the doctor has ordered her to stay in during the cold months.  I can only imagine how that must get to you after awhile.  She was so pleased to see us.  We stayed for an hour and a half before I felt like we should go so we wouldn't wear her out!  She had sat so long talking to us that she had a hard time getting up.

I take my relative health for granted.  I'm sure I'm not the only one, but being around someone who is forced to stay in due to their health, it makes you think and it makes you thankful.  Thank You, Lord, for the health You have allowed me to have!

Today, I worked on making a storage place for all of the words and phrases I have been cutting out of the AA book.  It will do until I can find or think of some better way to store them.

Today's photo challenge was kinda weird.  I had to take a picture of a bag.  Since I went to the $$ Tree today, that was the winner!

Well, a new knitting project crossed my e-mail today from Michael's and I decided I just had to make it since it will be a quick and easy project.  A cowl made with thick yarn.  I didn't have enough thick yarn, so I just doubled up on the yarn I had and am using 2 strands at once.  It is very easy.  25 stitches.  First and every other row is K1, P1.  Second and every other row is Purl.  You do this for about 32" and then sew it together as shown in the photo below.

This is the wrong side, but I am thinking I like it better than the right side.

The right side.
I'll have to see how each side looks when I get it finished.  I am hoping I can get it sewn together in such a way that I can use either side.

I have had heartburn again today.  I sent a note to my doctor to request being able to begin the acid reflux meds again.  The TUMS did not help!  Guess I will be taking the acid reflux meds from now on.

Time for some Bible work and then some knitting!  Nite!
