Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

A Hankerin' For

Tim's got a hankerin' for meat loaf and cucumbers and onions.  How do I know?  I found recipes for both on the stove this morning.  :D  I don't love either, so I don't make either one very often.  Today I made the cucumbers and onions.  I've never added anything but vinegar, water and sugar.  But the recipe Tim found has salt, celery seed, coriander seed and mustard seeds.  He said it was good.  He likes to cut up tomato to eat with the mixture.  His only request was to have as much onion as cucumbers because he "likes to have a bite of onion with every bite of cucumber."  I already had pork chops thawed for fixing tonight, so the meatloaf will have to be tomorrow.

Today's Photo prompt:  Black and White.  This is the title of the next Terri Blackstock book I will be reading.

Here's the outside of the Valentine card I made yesterday.
I swept all of the floors today and even swept off the back porch!  :D  After lunch we went to make the deposit and get some groceries and drinking water.  Most of the afternoon I worked on putting together some beads for a bracelet I want to make for Tim's mom.  I'm at a standstill right now until I get her wrist size.

Tonight was the service at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living.  There is one lady who always wants to argue with Tim about women preachers, of which she claims to be one.  She tells him that she went to a Baptist church one time and asked if they would let her preach.  They told her no.  So she always asks Tim if he is that kind of Baptist.  He, of course, says yes.  I don't know if she walks away mad, or what because I've not been around when she has confronted him.  We were told that she is very argumentative and argues with everyone at the facility.

The qualifications for being a preacher are clear in 1 Timothy 3.  Among those qualifications, verse 3 says, "A bishop (pastor) then must be.....the husband of one wife....."  A woman can NEVER be a husband.  Tim would love the opportunity to do a Bible study with her on the matter, but that will probably never happen.  And, she will probably be back to the next service and try to argue the point again.  And that's OK.

By the way, I was wrong about the temperature we had yesterday.  I said it was 70+, which was true.  Except it was actually 80+.  The high was 81!  Today the high was 58, I believe.

That was my day!  Hope yours was a good one!

I love that Tim left recipes out for you. He's about as subtle as Michael is! lol.

Yes, he (Michael) is definitely his father's son! And that's a good thing! :)
