Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Oh! Say, Can You See?

Boy, oh Boy!  Was it ever a nice day!

I changed the saying on the church sign, but forgot to take a picture of it.  I'll have to do that tomorrow.

Tim cleaned out the blue bird nest today.  It seems that they were building a new nest every year on top of the old nest from last year.

I went to Walmart to get the groceries that were listed on the board on the fridge.  Also went to Office Depot to get some black printer ink for my printer.  I took the neighbor along since her car is in the shop.

I started working on another project today, too.  I'm thinking it will be a purse.  I will line it with fabric and I might even add a zipper to the top of it.  We will see how ambitious I am by the end of the knitting.  :D

Here's today's photos.  I totally forgot to get a photo for one of the 4 prompts for the day.  Oh well!

Here's the pole our blue bird box is on.
I "made" Tim put on gloves for this job.  He only put one on. Then ended up using his other hand to drag some of the old nesting out of the blue bird box.

Here are the clumps of nesting he removed.

Ready for a new nest to be built!

One lonely daffodil on the plant in the foreground.  Four on the plant on the other side of the porch.

This is the flag I knitted for Tim's mom back in 1974 or 1975, I would guess.  It was the first really BIG project I ever did!  It turned out beautifully.  Since Tim's mom will be moving in with her daughter eventually, she gave it back to me.  Some of the seams need to be mended and the felt stars have holes in them.  I was going to take it to the cleaners, but I probably need to mend it first.  So, I opted for airing it in the sunshine today for now.

The blue bird keeping his eyes on me.

You can see the buds on the maple tree in our back yard.

While looking at this wicked tree from this side of it, I thought it looked like the living part of the tree on the outside had it's "arms" around the dead part of the tree, trying to hold it together.

Here's the purse project I started today.  I bought this yarn to make a second shawl like the one I finished last week.  But, since the other shawl turned out to be too little, I decided to find a different project to make.  This pattern is worked in K1, P1 for 2 rows and then P1, K1 for 2 rows, on an even number of stitches.  It is supposed to be worked up as a rectangle and then you fold it in half and sew up the sides.  But, I hate stitching up the seams, so decided to do mine in rounds.  Then, instead of having 3 seams (sides and bottom), I will only have one seam on the top where I plan to put a zipper.  If I decide not to do a zipper, I will not have any seams to mess with!

That was my Monday!  See you Tuesday, Lord willing!
