Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

No Hope

Brother Ellis preached a message on Hopelessness tonight.  It is definitely prevalent in this day and age of so many suicides.  His message was clear and true.  None of us have any hope outside of Jesus Christ!  I cannot imagine trying to live in this day and age without the hope of knowing my future is held in His hands.  I have no need of worry.  Thank You, Lord!

Tim and Bro. Ellis went out to eat breakfast with some of the guys from church and then they went to the shooting range.  I worked in laundry and dishes while they were gone.  I did go with Lori and her niece, Allie, to Family Christian Bookstore to their closeout sale, but I didn't find anything.

Here's some pictures I took of the birds while I was waiting on Lori to pick me up:
Almost looks like one of those wood carvings.

The suet cake is totally gone!

Mr. and Mrs. Goldfinch.  Tim calls him Goldie and calls her Olive.

The Mrs.

The two on the shepherds hook watching to drop down to take a turn at the feeder.

So, how do I keep the big ole' blackbirds and crows away from the feeders?  Anyone know?

Well, it will be early to rise for me tomorrow so I can cook for the church dinner to end our revival services!  Hard to believe the week is over already!  We had great attendance this week!
