Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Insecticide

Tim spent some time in the office this morning, but rested this afternoon.  While he was napping, I went to AC Moore to spend my $10 certificate which expired the end of this month.  I wasn't looking for or needing anything specific, so I just went up and down every aisle.  And when I got back up to the front, they had their mark-down bins loaded with items.  So, I picked up a die for $5, an ink pad for $1, a clear stamp set for $1, a foam stamp domino set for $1, a black double-ended pigment marker for $1, a couple of different sized jewelry stone setter brads for $0.25 each and a wooden "V" for $0.50.  Price I paid.....ZERO!
My FREE-to-me bargains!  Even better than the thrift store!
When I got home, Tim was sitting out under the carport.  He said he had only been up maybe 10 minutes.  It was a tad bit cooler today, but it was still pretty humid.  But a bit of a breeze was blowing, too!  That always helps!

We sat outside for about an hour and a half, I guess.  We had a visitor.  One of the ladies from church was going to help Lori pack up some boxes for moving, but Lori wasn't home yet because she had some doctor appointments and had to go to a different place, unexpectedly, for x-rays.  So, Carolyn saw us sitting out and decided to come over and visit with us while she waited for Lori to get home.  We had a nice visit.

I only got one bird picture today while we sat outside.
Mr. Goldfinch, we haven't seen you in a couple of days!
Today I took pictures of insects.

I have not seen many butterflies at all this year yet.  I have seen white ones flying around out in the tobacco field next to the house and a few teeny tiny ones here and there, and I did see a blue and black one yesterday, but not when I could get a picture of it.

The first several pictures are of a "Cabbage White" butterfly like the ones I see in the tobacco field all of the time.  The only flower big enough to hold it in our yard was a dandelion.

I am so glad I got the pictures and the video of the Cabbage White butterfly.  As I was watching it, I saw a bird fly over the house and all of a sudden it hoovered in mid air, flew down and grabbed the Cabbage White butterfly and flew to the awning above the stoop on the side of the house and ate it!  Wow!  I call that God's natural Insecticide!

I believe this to be a female Fiery Skipper Butterfly when comparing it to the web images below.

Female

This male is much brighter.

Bee, bee, bumble bee.  I see something you don't see.......

After Carolyn left to go to Lori's, we sat there for a little while longer, trying to think of something to go and do for a couple of days.  Then we went into the house.  Tim laid down for a quick nap before supper and I started another crocheting project for winter with some yarn I found at the thrift store for $0.99 each for 3 brand new skeins.  I'm going to make a cowl neck poncho.  I'll show it to you after it gets some length to it.

For now, I think I will read for awhile.  Night!
