Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Layin' Down the Law

Tim went to the office at 9:00.  I made him some coffee and took it to him.  I told him I was restricting his time in the office today to one hour this morning.  He said, "then what am I going to do?"  I said, "REST!  Your brain is not going to heal if you don't let it rest!"  He said, "You are right."

I took his morning meds to him at 9:50.  Since I had been over there a couple of times interrupting, I said I would be back over at 10:30.  He said, "OK.  Then I will rest for a couple, three hours and that will earn me more time over here."  He is persistent, ya gotta give him that!  :D  But, he and I also know until his vision is straightened out, he is not going to be able to do half of what he normally would do in his studies.  He said his outliner is not functioning correctly.  I am sure it is because he himself is not functioning correctly.

He actually walked to the house without me going after him.  He went to bed.  I kissed him good night and told him I loved him.  He said, "I love you, too.  I just hate that tough love!" and laughed.  He knows I want him healed.  On his own, he would not allow himself to heal.  What is it with men, anyway, that they cannot admit when they need help?  We all need help.  And the only place our true help can come from is the Lord!  That's why God gave men wives as helpers!  :D  All joking aside, Psalm 121 says, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."  Thank You, Lord, that lots of your promises to Israel are for us, too.  Help Tim to realize and do the things that will help him to heal!  Thank You that he did not experience any double vision today!

About 15 minutes after Tim laid down to rest, we had some special visitors from West Virginia.  Wayne and Linda Whittington stopped by to visit and to see how Tim was doing.  It was wonderful to see them!  They are members of the church we left in Buffalo, WV back in 2008.  They were here for an hour or so before having to hit the road back to Roanoke, VA to visit relatives, which is 2 hours from here.  So, it was so nice of them to drive out of their way to come and to see us!  Linda took my side and ordered Tim back to bed after they left!  :D  Which he did!

Today was laundry day.  Lori brought over some thermals and sweat pants of Franks for Tim, and a few other items.  So, he tried it all on today and I took back to her what we were not keeping so she could sell in her yard sale.  I also went through my closet and pulled out some of the clothes that are now too big for me and took to her so she could sell.  I told her to keep the money if she got anything out of them.  Some nice Sag Harbor jackets I hope she can get a couple $$ for anyway.  Now I'm in the mood to go through some other stuff to take to her to get rid of!  It will help me down-size and help her pocketbook!  :D  Help her to do well in the yard sale, Lord!  Help her especially to sell the dune buggy!  That sale would help her out LOTS!

After Tim's afternoon nap, he did go back to the office for a bit.  Then he came back to the house with his finished devotion for Mallard Ridge on Monday.  Thank You, Lord!

We ate supper and then went out under the car port to watch the birds.  It was still fairly warm, even for Tim, who is always cold and wears long sleeved shirts practically all the time.  He actually rolled his sleeves up tonight!  AND, no double vision tonight!  Thank You, Lord!  I am thinking rest is key!

I have pictures AND videos for you tonight.  Enjoy!
Tim was eating ice cream on banana bread with a few blue berries sprinkled on top.

Another beautiful evening.

It was a busy night for the birds.  Even before I scattered some unsalted peanuts (in the shell) around the birding area on the ground.  Tim's mom said blue jays love them!  Even though I haven't seen any blue jays for probably 6 weeks, I scattered them around to see what would happen.  The black birds LOVED them!  I also put a cute fence up that she gave to me.  It hides the cement blocks somewhat where the bird bath sits.
peanuts

The black birds LOVED them!

See the cute little fence?

First mushroom of the year

What happens under the car port stays under the car port!  :D

Decided he'd had enough bird watching, especially after the hawk swooped in and ran all the birds off!

I finally got to try out the lounge chair Tim's mom gave us!
Tufted titmouse which I haven't seen in quite a while.

Not sure if this is a female house finch or female cow bird

Well, so much for this suet cake being for the woodpeckers!

These won't last long with the huge bites these black birds take out of them.

Female house finch.....which tells me the one I questioned was a cowbird

The neighbors cut their grass today.

Something startled them into flight!

I think this might be a young cardinal because of his size.

same for her

This male cowbird looks like he is praying before his drink at first glance.

When you watch this video, pay close attention to the large feathers you see at about the middle top of the screen at the end.  The birds all flew away, and I looked for more birds at the feeders, but they were gone, too.  So, I started back to the left with the camera and that is when you see the other bird fly away.  Start hitting the pause button and you can see it fly down from the tree. That is the hawk that flew out of the tree and all of the birds scattered.  I don't know if the hawk ended up grabbing one of the smaller birds from the tree or not.

A hawk was in the maple tree near my bird feeders and all of the birds scattered.  The blackbirds went to the tops of the neighbor's trees.  You should have heard the fussing going on with them.

i think this is a bluebird, but the setting sunlight from my angle washed out the color.

Chipping sparrow.  Smaller then the house finches.
Hollyhocks

They are beautiful, but they don't stay standing for long before they are falling over onto the ground.

Buds beginning to open

These were across the road on some vines covering the trees

Love the coral color!

Have a wonderful Lord's Day!  Serve Him in His house!
