Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

More Family Time

Today Liz, Brad and the kids came and took Tim (and I) out for Father's Day lunch.  We went to the new Red Robin at the Mall.  Then they came back to the house and stayed for awhile before going home.  Thanks for a fun day, Elisabeth and Brad and kids!  We love you!

Tim and I sat out under the carport to watch the birds while we waited for them to come.

The girls played Barbies while we played pool.

Ryan about cleared the board in one turn!

Getting some pointers from dad.

It worked!

Getting fancy!  Girls against the Guys tied 2 games to 2 games.
After Tim got up from his nap, I cut his hair and he took his shower and got dressed for bed.  Then we went out under the carport again.

It ended up raining really hard for a little while.  I had to go back in the house to get Tim's shoes so he could walk back into the house without getting his feet wet.

Here's all of the bird pictures today.  A new bird came to the feeder today!

Finally got one of the birds taking a bath in the bird bath!

Getting a little crowded!

Bluebird watching from the same place as usual.

Here's my new visitor.  Do you know what it is?

Here it is again.  And from the pictures I found on the web, it is a white-breasted nuthatch.

This picture is from the web.  I would LOVE to have a bird land on my hand sometime!  This one's wings are blueish, but I think mine is still a nuthatch.

Here's another picture from the web.

Gonna have to get another suet cake for the chickadee.

The rain didn't bother the birds any at all!

You can barely see the rainbow.

A gully-washer moment.

This is a chimney swift.  They are so swift (pun intended) that I had to set the camera up and wait for one to fly into the space I was aiming the camera at.  It is a little blurry, but I got it!

I love your pictures! Especially the rain ones. Wow.

I enjoyed following along with Nat's trip and seeing Liz and everyone. I'm so glad you post on your blog daily! I look forward to it. :-)
