Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

It's Just Hot!

We had decided last night that Jon and his dad would come to the house at 10 and we would go to brunch, they would come back to the house for awhile and then head back to Kentucky.  I woke up around 7:15 but tried to go back to sleep since I had a slight headache.  At 7:30 I heard my phone beep with a text message.  So, I went ahead and got up.  It was Jon.  He and his dad were awake and "just sitting here" and wondered if we could go ahead and meet for breakfast.  I told him Tim was still asleep but to give us til 8 and we would be ready.  Well, I woke Tim up and it took us maybe 15 minutes to get ready.  I sent Jon another text and told him we were ready.  He said, "We are on the way!"

We had a nice breakfast at Breakfast Time.  I couldn't believe how busy they were so early on a Saturday morning!  After breakfast, we came back to the house and solved all of the political and world problems right in our living room!  :D

Tim's dad will be 86 at the end of this month.

Jon is 18 months younger than Tim.

It was so hot again today!  It seems it has been hot for a month!  I thought surely there had been more 90+ degree days than 5!  But, I guess it is because the heat index has been so high!  The humidity has been AWFUL!  I'm looking forward to Fall already!

The thunderstorms we had later in the early evening were a welcome change!  It cooled the air down immediately!

Well, it's about time for bed, but I want to read some tonight.  I've also been watching a series of films the past 4 nights called, The Truth About Cancer, A Global Quest.  There are 9 parts and each one has been about 1 1/2 hours long.  So, I still have to watch that, too.  Tonight is the 5th one and the link is only good for 24 hours.  If you are interested, here is the link:  Part 5

The link is only good for 24 hours.  I never gave it a thought to share the links here for the first 4 parts.  Sorry about that.

Anyway, have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow!  Make sure you attend God's house!
