Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Thrifting

Had a great time with Jessica today when we went thrifting about an hour away from her house.  It was a nice day and the trip was nice for conversation.  I had my knitting along and we listened to music on the Christian radio station.  Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 thrift stores she had planned on us going to happened to be closed today.  But a friend of hers told Jessica about another thrift store a little further up the road from where we were.  Then we went to another closer to home on our way back.  Surprisingly, the only thing I found were some little post-it type note pads.  Jessica found several articles of clothing for Kara, however.  She found a jacket for herself and some luggage in her favorite black and white houndstooth pattern.

Jessica put a roast in the crockpot before we left, so supper was basically taken care of.  We watched the last of The Lord of the Rings trilogy while eating.  She also made one of Ilene's wine cakes, so that was for dessert.  It was yummy warm!

I think I will finish up the skein of yarn on the poncho I am making and then call it quits for today!  Have a great Wednesday!

My thrifting companion for the day.

Kara's grandpa in Florida sent her a text to check out the moon tonight.  So she told me and we took our cameras out to capture it.  It amazes me to think her grandpa in Florida can look out his window and see the same moon we can see here in Alabama, or wherever!  Thank You, LORD, for sharing Your creation with us!
