Digital Scrapbooking Layouts

Today, besides some new photos I took, I have been scrapbooking on my computer.  So, I decided, before I begin a new puzzle, to share the pages I have done recently for challenges (inspiration) at The Digi Chick.  If you want to read the credit information about how I made the pages, you can read them on My Photos in the gallery.  Just click on the "My Photos" link above, scroll down, and click on one of the scrapbook pages.  These 6 layouts will show up first.

The journaling on the page reads:  "This has been a cold winter for North Carolina!  We rarely ever get snow, but we got a whopping 4-5" if not more.  The storm has paralyzed the state."  This is one of the photos I took during the snow storm we had on 1/16/18.

The journaling on this page reads:  "It has been a cold, cold winter!  Not used to it being so cold in North Carolina!  The winters are generally very mild.....they spoil us!  We are not used to this kind of snow!  It is pretty, but it is Enough!"  Another photo I took on 1/16/18.

This was done for the Scripture Challenge and the journaling is verses from the Bible:  Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

The journaling on this page reads:  "Abby, first grade, and Isabelle, Kindergarten, were chosen by their classmates as female representatives for Homecoming based on Godly character.  They will walk out during the homecoming basketball game at Rockwell Christian on January 23rd.  Everyone had to wear their dress and have it approved by the principal for modesty.  How cute they are!"

The journaling on this page reads:  "As I look back over the past years and how my acquaintance with these special women came about, it is only then that I understand the importance of why the Lord put them in my life.  When I met them, I didn't know they would be such a blessing to me in my future widowhood.  Thank You, Lord, for Your eternal wisdom and knowledge of what I would need when I needed it!"

The journaling on this page reads:  "First time in several years all nine grandchildren have been together at the same time for our Christmas gathering.  Even though they don't see one another very often, they get along marvelously!"

Today's photos:
The sun was bright today and really melted the snow, even though it started out at 16 degrees and felt like it was 6 degrees!

Lots of snow still on the ground, but the trees are about bare of snow!

I couldn't believe how much snow had melted off the deck by 3:00.  It surprised me!

Anything in the shadows still had lots of snow piled on it, however.

The shadow of the tree on the snow caught my attention.

The sky was beautiful today!

Icecicles

Can you guess what this is?

That was my day!  Hope yours was great!  If not, maybe your tomorrow will be better!  I pray it is!

Snow Day

WOW!  We really got the snow today!  More even than WV had, or at least more than the people we talked to.  It was so pretty coming down!  I'm glad we didn't have to get out in it!  I'm glad we had the foresight to get the groceries we needed yesterday!

I tried to call the eye doctor at 8:30 to tell her we were going to cancel but no one answered the phones.  At 9:00 she called us and told us the appointments were going to be delayed because they were not going to open the office until 1:00.  We told her we had called to cancel anyway.  She said they may not even open the office anyway today.  So she would call us back tomorrow morning to reschedule.

Bobby canceled the evening services at church, too.  With so many of our people being out sick on Sunday he decided it would probably be best to give everyone extra time to heal and the rest of us to not worry about having to get out on the roads.  Ilene and I would not be going anyway.  She said her street is always plowed last.  It is 2:15 as I type this and we have not seen a plow truck yet.  Very few people are braving the weather out this way!

I had fun taking some photos of the white beauty.  God is the Master Painter of all things beautiful!  So thankful we didn't have to get out in it!  So, we stayed in our jammies all day (thus far, anyway)!  And I think I'm going to have to scrap some of these beautiful pictures!

My first pictures were taken at 8:30.  Not sure how long it had been snowing at this point.

Ilene talking to her daughter.

After Bobby told us the evening services were canceled, we decided to stay in our jammies all day!
And, what do you do inside all day when the weather is frightful outside?  Why, of course!  You work a puzzle!  Here's the one we started last night and finished today:

Out the back door to the deck.

Out the front door on the porch.

Out the side window.

9:00 a.m. getting heavier.

1:39 p.m. the snow has really piled up on the cars!

Not sure what bird was looking for food in this video.  The zoom is not very clear on the camera, which irritates me.  Notice how deep the snow has gotten on the cars by this afternoon!  The hum you hear is the heat pump (I think that is what it is).

Love the soft music of the wind chimes.

The pine trees are so pretty as their boughs pile up the snow!
Well, believe it or not, the weather forecast I looked at this morning was correct when it said the snow would end around 3 this afternoon!  I took a broom and swept through the snow on the porch.  I measured what was piled up on the banister.....3 1/2".

Ilene is packing so she can go to the funeral in WV of her sister in law who died yesterday.  I'm hanging out here and going to do some knitting, etc.

Have a great Thursday!

Time Out

We had some time out grocery shopping today.  In case it really snows!  WV has been getting it!

Beautiful morning sky.  It was in the 40s today.

Enjoying a late lunch at Cagney's.  Not many people there.

Grocery list.

When we got home I noticed a woodpecker in a tree by the drive way.  So I went into the house and got my camera.

He was about 3 car widths away from me.  He kept his eye on me.

As I moved closer to him, he scurried around to the back of the tree.

A video of the woodpecker pecking in the tree and eating something he found there.

It was decent outside today.  The sun was still high in the sky when we got home.

Ilene going out to the mail box.

We started another puzzle tonight.

Lots of pieces still hooked together!  We left them that way!  We don't care to cheat in this manor!  :D

This is the puzzle we are working on.  1000 pieces for $0.49 from the same thrift as the winter scene we just finished.

Tomorrow Ilene and I both have eye appointments.  I'm going to go to the same doctor she goes to.  Because I am self-pay I was told I will receive a 25% discount.  I'll take it!

Have a great Wednesday!
