I looked up the "definition" of Mother Nature because there has always been something about that phrase that has bothered me. Here's how Miriam Webster has defined the phrase: "nature personified as a woman considered as the source and guiding force of creation." And THAT is why it has always rubbed me the wrong way! The source of creation was God! Genesis 1:1, the very first verse in the Bible tells us so, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." John 1:3 says, "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made." And He continues to take care of nature today. Matthew 6:6 says, "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" Matthew 6:30 says, "Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?"
Anyway, today's photos are of Father God's nature here in my own back yard. Enjoy!
House Finch (compared size to the dandilion).
My own wire suet cage! Crude, but the birds didn't seem to mind.
Carolina Chickadee, which looks like their cousin the Black-capped Chickadee. Read about the differences here: http://www.audubon.org/news/identifying-black-capped-and-carolina-chickadees
Tufted Titmouse couple. I think they were getting insects from the tree. By the way, you can say Tufted Titmice for more than one. Read about this and other things about Tufted Titmice: http://www.birdwatchersgeneralstore.com/Titmouses.htm
Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird
Mr. Bluebird's colors are a bit brighter.
Mrs. Bluebird's colors are a bit washed out.
The bumble bees are out!
Watching from the car port (loving flip flop and capris weather!)
Once again, I came into the house to fix supper and the cardinal showed up at the feeder. So, once again, I took this photo through both windows and screens.
The morning dove
Sun is setting.
Watching from the back door porch.
Besides waking up with my stomach messed up, I got a few groceries and washed bed sheets and blankets today. And this afternoon Tim took a break from the office and invited me to visit our regular thrifts with him. He found a suit. And I found a platter that I am going to use as a bird bath.
There you have it! Have a great evening!
