Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

YEAH!!! I was able to get another month done in my Project! I hope you have enjoyed the layouts as you followed some of the daily happenings in my life. I was afraid that I would not be able to COMPLETELY complete the challenge since we are traveling last week and this week. Kinda messed up my schedule with bad internet access the first part of last week and being very busy during the days of the Creation Seminar my DH conducted last week. And, then with us being with our son the first part of this week! But, I gotter' done!

I used Maddy Fernandez' "Spring Rhapsody" to complete this page. Stay tuned for April's posts! Thanks for taking the time to look!

March 30, 2009

Well, one of my objectives while we visited the Gulf coast, was to get some sunset pictures. DS and DIL took us to the beach where their wedding reception was held after they arrived in FL with her father. The weather was beautiful. We arrived about an hour before the sun set and it was a spectacular show! You will be seeing more sunset pages at a later date!

I used Kathryn Estry's elements she supplied for taking the Designer Elements Challenge at Digitals during the month of March. You need to check out the challenge in the following forum. If you are a registered member (no cost involved) you can participate in the challenges each month. There are some fabulous prizes each month. The more challenges you participate in, the more pieces of the Mega Kit you will collect from all of Digital's Designers. The Challenge Forum is found HERE.

March 29, 2009

Well, I am finally up-to-date with my pages! Today has been a blessing in many ways. This area of Florida is in a 3-year drought and everyone has been praying for rain. Well, today they got some! Probably not as much as they need, but a nice, gentle, steady down pour this morning. The sun is out right now, but there are still clouds around, so maybe the Lord will bless them with some more rain today.

Another blessing was the good crowd that came out to church this morning. The Creation Seminar has been a blessing to all who have attended. Several were able to attend every service. It is a blessing to see God's people make learning the things of God their priority unless providentially hindered. Unfortunately, I think some of that providence is actually an excuse! But that will have to be a subject I talk about on my Days of Praise blog sometime.

This page was made using Maddy Fernandez' "Spring Rhapsody" kit found HERE. The background paper with the white "Showers of Blessing" repeated is my doing. That paper is also at 75% opacity.

March 28, 2009

Today, DH and I went north to Winter Haven, FL to find some Thrift shops for something to do and to give our hosts some "free" time. We found a few bargains. I found 4 pair of cullotes for $1 each and DH found a picture to go in his church office.

This is a Quick Page of Maddy Fernandez' found HERE using her new Spring Rhapsody kit found HERE with an element from her The Way of Royalty kit found HERE.

March 27, 2009

The days are passing quickly! We didn't do much today. We went to Walmart for a few grocery items and then I spent some time taking some pictures of the lovely flowers around the King's property.

I used a quick page that is free on Maddy Fernandez' blog found HERE. She made this quick page using her new kit, "Spring Rhapsody" found at Digitals HERE.

March 26, 2009

Today, the King's took us to Port Charlotte to do some site seeing and to eat lunch at one of the restaurants in Fishermen's Village. There were shops there, too. We went into a few of them because we were still looking for a plastic jelly fish for Tim's seminar. We didn't find the jelly fish, but we had a delicious lunch and a good afternoon.

This is another page using Cindy Ritter's "Pixie Dust and Posies"

March 25, 2009

Well, sadly we had to leave my sister's and move on south. She went in to work late so she could see us off. Tonight, Wednesday, will be the first night of the Creation Seminar that my husband is going to present.

March 24, 2009

We arrived at my sister's house just a little after 7 p.m. on Monday. She still had to go to work today, so DH and I took a trip up to Cocoa Beach to spend some time on the beach and also to stop in some of the shops to see if we could find some items for his Seminar.

This page is created with Cindy Ritter's "Pixie Dust and Posies"

March 23, 2009

As most of you probably know, DH is teaching a Creation Seminar in Arcadia, FL this week.
We left on Monday, even though the Seminar does not begin until Wednesday evening. We will be spending Monday evening and Tuesday evening with my sister in Palm Bay, FL and then travel down to Arcadia on Wednesday morning.

We left early so we could take our time and enjoy the trip. We wanted to be able to stop along the way to see whatever sites we might happen upon. We stopped at the Visitor's Center in GA so we could get some information on Savannah, GA for a follow-up visit later on. While at the center, we discovered there was a nice picnic area, so we decided before getting back on the road, we would go ahead and eat our lunch.

I used Cindy Ritter's "Pixie Dust and Posies" to make the page.

March 22, 2009

I was thrilled to learn that I am the featured scrapper for the Scraplift Challenge at Digitals through the month of March! Thanks, Georgia! The Challenge forum is HERE. The link to my layout that everyone is scraplifting is HERE.

I created this page using Cindy Ritter's new kit, Pixie Dust and Posies, found HERE.

Sorry for the absence the last couple of days. DH and I are traveling in FL for a Creation Seminar he will be holding. We are currently sitting in a McDonald's using their free Wi-Fi, so I do not know how often I will be able to post. I'm keeping up with my pages, but will probably have to post them next week after we return home! Just stay in touch! I WILL RETURN ASAP!

Have a great week! We will return home next Thursday!

March 21, 2009

Well, folks! Unfortunately, the dryer is dead! Looks like our next purchase will be a dryer! I did take the last two loads of washed clothes to the laundromat today. I had forgotten how much FUN that is! NOT! I had to wait half an hour just to be able to get free dryers. One buckeroo per load! I don't know how much it would cost to wash a load, but probably at least $1 per load, if not more! I hope I never have to find out! That extra expense would sure add up quickly! I cannot see how a family could afford to do their laundry that way every week!

My page was made using Joyce de Jonge's "Easter Eggztractions" kit found HERE.

March 20, 2009

I'm not one of those women who cherishes hanging her laundry outside in the sunshine and fresh air! I had to do that for too many years to save money! But, today, just give me the dryer! I'll get my April fresh smell from the box! That being said, the dryer broke today! And, I wasn't finished drying my clothes! So, tomorrow I will be visiting the laundromat! Haven't had to do that in a good many years! Should be interesting to see how much it is going to cost! At least I only have 2 loads to dry!

I used Joyce de Jonge's "With All My Heart" kit. The kit can be found HERE.

Award Time, Finally!

On March 4th, I wrote about receiving the following award and said I would be back with my decision(s) on who I wanted to pass the award along to. Well, I have one definite decision today.
Her blog is called "Candid Diversions" and it is a great blog by a wonderful young woman and has lots of wit and wisdom on it! You've got to check it out HERE.

CONGRATS to Karen for her wonderful blog! Right click on the award on the right side of the blog to save the image of the award!

And, just to inform of the "rules" about this award:
The Premio Dardos award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day.

The rules are:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to other 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact each of them to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

OK, I will not be giving this award to 15 other bloggers! I will be very picky about who I give this award to! And, I will probably be back from time to time to award someone else!

Freebies, Just 4 You!

Hey! I wanted to share the template with you that I created my Project 365 March 19th page with. Hope you enjoy it! Please let me know how you like it! I'd love to see your pages you create with it, too!

Today being Tim's day off from church work, we took another trip to Pilot Mountain since the weather was to be pretty and get to near 70 degrees. The wind on the mountain was a little chilly. I was glad to have my jacket, but as soon as we started climbing, I got rid of it and the breeze felt pretty good, LOL! We took a picnic lunch. I don't like to eat and then do strenuous walking, so Tim ate a snack before we started our walk and then we ate when we were finished. That was at about 1:00. We had a great time! I really enjoy being able to take these day trips with him on his day off. We couldn't do that when I was working. Thank You, Lord!

I used Amanda Thorderson's "Eden" kit for today's page. The kit can be found HERE.

Can You Hear This.........

Turn your sound up as loudly as it will go. I really think the only reason I recognize what I heard is because this tone is one of the tones used during the hearing tests I used to have to take at the plant where I used to work in WV. There is a mosquito noise, too, but there is a tone you can hear over the mosquito noise. See if you can hear it.

Happy St. Patty's Day! I don't believe in luck, but if I did, today would have been a lucky day for me! I got an e-mail from "my" Mega Thrift store up the street letting me know that they were celebrating St. Patrick's Day with 75% off on Green tagged items! WOOHOO! Let's go! Every week they feature a different colored tag at 50% off. I visit the store every week and I only buy the items with the 50% off tags. I've had my eyes on some of the culottes there and today I was able to get two pair with green tags! That makes three pair now that I can take to FL with us next week! WOOHOO! I also found 3 tops that will be very versatile because I will be able to wear them with several things. And I also found 2 skirts and a patriotic T-shirt that I will be able to wear with any of the culottes I have! So, I got 8 pieces today for $12! That is $0.75 per piece, if I did the math right in my head, LOL! And, two of the items I bought still had the original price tags on them! Thank You, Lord, for your Irish Blessings today!

And, speaking of Irish Blessings, that is the name of the kit I used for today's page. Designer is Maddy Fernandez and you can find the kit HERE.

Only 4 more days and Spring will officially be on the calendar! WOOHOO! I was beginning to wonder if it would ever get here! But, really, the spring flowers have been in full bloom now for about 2 weeks! The trees are in full bloom, for the most part, too. I took a picture of some forsythia last week, but it was really too far away to do any good. So today I decided I would try to get some pictures of the forsythia along the road as Tim and I went to walk at the mall. I wasn't able to get a great picture today, either. But, I think you can tell that they are pretty much in full bloom.

If you follow my blog, you will remember that I made a comment about wondering if the forsythia had anything to do with the naming of Forsyth County here in NC where we live. So, today I looked up the history of Forsyth County, and here is what I found:

Forsyth County began as a Moravian settlement in 1753 when Bishop August Gottlieb Spangenberg acquired a hundred-thousand acre tract of land from Lord Granville, one of the lord proprietors of North Carolina. The Moravians called their land Wachovia after the Austrian estate of Count Nicholas Lewis von Zinzendorf, an early protector of the Moravian church.

After the two settlements of Bethabara and Bethania were established, the town of Salem was begun in 1766 as the central town in Wachovia. Salem grew rapidly both as a religious center and as a center for crafts and trades.

Forsyth County was named in honor of Colonel Benjamin Forsyth, a respected landowner in Stokes County. Colonel Forsyth distinguished himself in battle during the war of 1812 at Odelltown, Canada, where he was mortally wounded.

In 1849, the North Carolina legislature created the new County of Forsyth out of part of Stokes County. In 1851, the town of Winston was named as the County seat. The courthouse square was laid one mile north of Salem Square with plans for the street of the two towns to run together.

In 1949, Willie H. Johnson, Jr., a Carver High School student, designed the Forsyth County seal during a contest to celebrate the County's centennial.

Forsyth County has progressed from its rustic past to a modern community which offers a variety of services to its citizens.

So, now that we know the two have nothing in common, today's page is a Quick Page from Joyce de Jonge's "Easter Eggztractions" kit. This is a really fun kit with some special instructions included for making cracked Easter egg surprise layouts! You need to check out the kit to find out what I'm talking about. It is found HERE.

March 15, 2009

Today the weather is yucky, but we need the rain. Isn't God good?! Just because we don't necessarily like a rainy day, isn't it good that God doesn't react to our petty whims, but gives us what we need! Just like a faithful father who takes care of the needs of his children!

I got an e-mail from my dear MIL today with the cute little poem and Koalas shown in the layout for today. And I decided that today would be a good day to pass along some hugs. And what better way to do that than to share a nice, warm bowl of soup with you on this wet day. I got this recipe off of another blog, http://livingonthecreek.wordpress.com/. Why don't you run over there and take a look. Seems to me like she must be an awful good cook! :)

I used Kathryn Estry's "Campin' Stuff" kit that is currently a FREE daily download over at Digitals and you can find it HERE. Click on Kathryn's name to go to her store where you can find all kinds of cute kits.

So, Hugs to each and everyone of you today! God's blessings to each of you as you rest on this Lord's Day!

March 14, 2009

I have been uploading my Project 365 pages to Wink Flash this evening (actually this morning, I should say). Since it is taking quite a while, I decided to take a picture of the clock showing past midnight and into the next day. I know, not very creative, but I'm tired and just wanted to get my page for the 14th done early so I can work on other stuff tomorrow (later today after I get up). They are running a special on an 8x8 book with 100 pages for $13.95! So, I'm hoping that I will have 100 pages because I have some pages that are double pages for the day. And, if not, I'll just get them ready for the next sale! There's no hurry in printing these, so I can wait for the sale!

Anyway, I used Joyce de Jonge's "Spring Romance" kit found HERE. And, now I'm off to bed! Have a great, terrific and blessed weekend!

March 13, 2009

Welcome to Friday 13th! I hope your day has been as blessed as mine has. If for no other reason than you were able to get out of bed, or that you are still breathing! I hope and pray that you did not let the date keep you from doing anything you normally do on Friday. I dwell a bit more on the superstitions of Friday 13ths on my Days of Praise blog. The link is at the top of this page. Why don't you take a look and leave me a comment to let me know you read it.

Friday 13th is what my page is about today, sort of. Or maybe better would be what we should do for today instead of what some people dwell on. I'm not going to take the time to re-hash everything. Go to my other blog. I spent a lot of time writing it.

Today's page was made using Amanda Thorderson's "Eden" kit found HERE.

March 12, 2009

Today I worked on my Days of Praise blog just about all day long. I changed the header and the background. I'm not completely satisfied with the background yet. The cross stitched cross is too big, so I need to remove some of the stitches and make it smaller and re-upload, but not today! I'm tired of messing with it!

We got some tax money back this week, so last night I suggested to DH that we splurge some of it by going out to eat. When we lived in WV and I was working full time, we had money to burn! And we had a date night every Thursday. But since I am not working here in NC, we rarely ever get to go out to eat and we really miss it! So, we decided to go to Olive Garden, which is our second favorite place to eat. Our first choice is Applebee's! But, since we hadn't been to Olive Garden in quite some time, we decided to go there on our date!

I used Maddy Fernandez' "Pearly Shells Page Kit" found HERE.

Every day we get closer to Spring brings more and more beautiful coloring from the new blossoms around town! The daffodils at church add more blooms each day, too! But, alas! Cooler temperatures are returning! Not freezing, but much cooler! Like 40 degrees cooler! YIKES! High expected of 38 on Friday or Saturday! But, I'm not complaining! It is still winter, you know! Here is a wonderful poem to help us remember that Winter won't be here forever!

Today's Joy
Was Born Of Yesterday's Sorrow

Who said the "darkness of the night"
Would never turn to day ...
Who said the "winter's bleakness"
Would never pass away ...

Who said the fog would never lift
And let the sunshine through ...
Who said the skies now overcast
Would nevermore be blue ...

Why should we ever entertain
These thoughts so dark and grim
And let the brightness of our mind
Grow cynical and dim ...

When we know beyond all questioning
That winter turns to spring ...
And on the notes of sorrow
New songs are made to sing ...

For no one sheds a teardrop
Or suffers loss in vain,
For God is always there to turn
Our losses into gain.

And every burden born TODAY
And every present sorrow
Are but God's happy harbingers
Of a joyous, bright TOMORROW!

March 10, 2009

Today was not as warm as yesterday, but still a very nice day. I worked on getting my SS lessons printed out all day today. I got my attendance poster made. Now all I need to do is study the first lesson for when I begin the class on April 5th.

I heard the birds chirping outside, so I grabbed the camera and went outside. There were robins all over the yard. While I was taking pictures of them, I noticed this tree with the beautifully colored buds.

I used Maddy Fernandez' "Irish Blessings" kit for my page. You can find the kit HERE

March 9, 2009

The beautiful weather continues! Tim and I did our walking at the mall, stopped at the grocery for mark-down meat, went to the nursing home to make a visit and then came back home. It was so pretty that I just had to do something outside! So I decided I would work a bit to get my flower beds ready for planting. It is going to be a lot of work! I wore out in no time, LOL!

And, aren't the daffodils beautiful? The yellow ones that the snow covered last Monday are in full bloom this week! Plus the white ones have started blooming, too!

I made this page using Joyce de Jonge's "With All My Heart" kit found HERE.

March 8, 2009

Since we were in WV, Bro. Grigsby invited Tim to stay over through Sunday and preach in both the morning and evening services. But, to allow us time to get back to NC at a decent hour, they had lunch on the church grounds and then held the evening service right after lunch. We were on the road by 3:00.

I used a quick page by Michelle Pieters for this page.

March 7, 2009

While in WV, our daughter and her family met us at Hawk's Nest State Park which was right down the road from where we were staying with Bro. and Sis. Grigsby in Hico, WV. Liz did not tell the kids that Mamaw and Papaw would be at the park! We had lunch and the kids played on the park playground and we took a short hike to Lover's Leap before going to Babcock State Park where a Grist Mill is located. The mill was not open but we had fun just playing around with the rocks and the kids around the water. It was a beautiful day!

I used Joyce de Jonge's kit, "With All My Heart" for this page. The kit is found HERE.

March 6, 2009

Today, Friday March 6th, we left for WV for the weekend. Tim is preaching at the monthly Pastors' meeting. This month the meeting is in Talcott, WV. The weather was beautiful and I took a picture of Tim and me and the daffodils at church before we left. The church where Tim preached, Rollynsburg Baptist, has a cabin for visiting preachers, etc to stay in. It is located on the Greenbrier River.

This page was created using a free quick page found on Joyce de Jonge's blog HERE

Catch-Up Time.....

Hope you had a good weekend. DH and I had a very nice trip to WV. DH preached on Friday at a Preacher's Meeting, Saturday we went to Hawk's Nest and Babcock State Parks with our daughter and her family (the weather was absolutely perfect!) then on Sunday, DH preached both services at Landmark Baptist in Hico, WV before traveling home. It was a busy weekend, but very relaxing!

I have pictures for my Project layouts for each day, but I still have to create the pages. That will happen later today. DH and I will be walking at the mall this a.m., doing visitation in the nursing home this a.m., and our church will gather an an area assisted living home where we hold services every month. So, it is one of those busy Mondays!

I'll be back later to post some pages for you! It might turn out to be tomorrow, however! :) Have a great day!

March 5, 2009

Well, I am STILL downloading all of the files I purchased earlier in the week! I am sick of the job, that is for sure! But, I have got to get it done because Tim and I will be away for the weekend and my time will expire before I would get a chance to get them all downloaded after we get back! So, here I sit at 1:15 (2:11 now) a.m. shuffling back and forth between the PC and the laptop to get the last of the files downloaded! I told Tim I would probably be up all night. Tomorrow I will need to do laundry and get caught up on other housework that I have not touched this week for being chained to the computers! Normally, that would not be a problem for me, but I'm usually doing something I enjoy doing on the computers! Not so much this week!

Oh well! It should pay off in the long run, I hope, anyway! So, my page today is done with a quick page from Paula Yagisawa's Puddle Jumping Brag Book and QP set found HERE.

Enjoy my page, while I go back to downloading! :(

I WON an AWARD!

How cool is that! Obviously, that is what today's page is about! WOOHOO! A big THANK YOU to Alisha, the author of http://rantingsofatoddlermom.blogspot.com/ for giving me this award! I was totally shocked and humbled! But, very happy! :)

I don't know if I can come up with 15 blogs or not, but I know of a few that I visit from time to time that I could recommend and get their information so I, too, can pass the torch! I don't see that there is a time limit, so I will be back later to post my recommendations!

Now, here is my page for today, featuring my award! I created this page using Joyce de Jonge's "Spring Romance" kit found HERE.

Today is the 6th anniversary of my dad's home-going to heaven. I still miss him. But I know he and mom are having a wonderful time in heaven!

I am going to start doing some digital designing (one of these days) and I had the chance to buy every item in one designer's store! So, I did! Lots of commercial use items, which is why I did it! Now, however, comes the chore of downloading all of it! And when I say all of it, here are the calculations.....each page of her store has 51 items. There are 10 full pages and Page 11 has 25 items. So, you do the math and tell me what you come up with! YUP! That's what I've been working on downloading ALL yesterday evening and ALL day today, with the exception of a couple of hours where Tim and I walked and I got groceries! Had to buy food to keep my strength up for this HUMONGOUS task! LOL! So, I decided that my page for today should be about these downloads. I made a print screen and the rest is seen below.

I used a quick page of Paula Yagisawa from her "Cherished Memories" kit found HERE.

March 2, 2009

Well, we got some snow! Not as much as what I heard we were supposed to get, but more than just a dusting! Of course, the sun came out today and melted almost all of it. It is supposed to be in the 60s later this week!

I started a new CT assignment this month. Her name is Joyce de Jonge. Here store at Digitals is HERE. The kit I used today of Joyce's is "Spring Romance" found HERE. It is on sale for a short time, so you better hurry!

March 1, 2009

Well, "Out like a lion" is what is said about March weather. And today is proof enough of that! We have had rain here all day today. Some around us have had freezing rain! The forecast is lots of snow by tomorrow and in my layout, I state that I am skeptical! However, that being said, DH asked me if I had looked outside lately. So, I looked outside. And you can see the picture I took below my layout!

Today's page is created with Amanda's "Eden" kit found HERE

Yes, it is true! We are getting snow as we speak (11:30 p.m.)! Even though our outdoor thermostat reads 40 degrees, the weather says it is 33 degrees. I will go with the 33 since we are getting snow now and not rain! I used the flash so the light would reflect off of the snow! It is still very wet, however! Probably because the temp is above freezing! I'll keep you posted on the outcome!
