Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

A Shelter in the Woods

Mark worked some more on the shelter today and got the dish on top of the braces, which is a miracle in and of itself!  Here are the photos of the process.......

Just getting the dish on the trailer was a feat!

He had to drive a stick into the ground between the dish and the shelter to keep the dish from sliding away.

You can see the stick in front of the dish.

Now to use the tractor to hoist the dish up.......

.....and over the edge to the top.

And, it's up!

Mark moved the benches under the shelter.

Another angle.

Looking between the other fire pits.

Mark strung some lights under the shelter and he wanted to see how they looked and show me the new shelter.

You can see where Mark bolted the dish into the brace.

Let there be light!  And I love it!

The lights are solar powered.
Little by little, the pit area is improving!  Thank you, sweetie, for your HARD, HARD work!

While Mark worked on the shelter, I fixed the Beef and Macaroni Casserole for his birthday.  We ate about 2:30 and then Mark went back to do some more work on the shelter.  I cleaned up the kitchen and then went to the craft shed to do some painting.

Can you tell what flower this is supposed to be?

And that wraps up our day!  I also saw Ilene for a little while today.  She got a piece of mail addressed to Mark and I from the IRS.  It was letting us know that our stimulus money had been deposited.

Thank You, LORD, for the blessings of the day!

Love the Nut Hatcher and love watching as he walks around on the tree eating bugs, yet he also likes the bird feeder.

FLUFFY CLOUDS

Today Mark and I worked in the woods all day.......after he cut down a tree that was leaning towards the house and was beginning to become uprooted.  He had a chain around it and had it winched so it would fall down the driveway instead of hitting the house.  It didn't work out exactly that way.
IT HIT THE CORNER OF THE HOUSE ON THE EAVE.

NOT TOO BADLY DAMAGED.  AT LEAST IT IS FIXABLE.

MARK HAD TO SHARPEN THE SAW BLADE BEFORE CHOPPING UP THE TREE TO MOVE.

WE LOADED THE BRANCHES ONTO THIS TRAILER SO MARK COULD HAUL IT TO THE WOODS.

ONE FULL TRAILER!

NOW TO CUT UP THE TRUNK.

THIS TRUMPET CREEPER VINE  WAS WRAPPED ALL AROUND THE TREE.

A FEW PIECES THAT FELL OFF THE TRAILER AS MARK WENT TO THE WOODS.

READY TO WORK.

I PAINTED THE SHED.  A FEW ANTS HAD A "PAIN-TFUL" DEATH!

LOVE THIS COLOR.....BROWN VELVET.  CERTAIN WAYS THE LIGHT HITS IT, THE COLOR LOOKS PURPLE!

MARK IS WORKING ON A SHELTER.  HE IS GOING TO USE THE HUGE TV DISH UP NEAR THE HOUSE.  IT IS 10 FEET IN DIAMETER.

After he got the poles braced, he cut the tops of the poles off that were above the bracing boards.  The problem is going to be getting the dish on top!

Mark's birthday was today, so he took the day off and also took tomorrow off.  He still is only working 32 hours a week.  I was going to fix him one of his favorite dishes his mom used to fix.....hamburger casserole, but since we worked so long in the woods, getting back just in time for watching our church service Bobby recorded, I added some tomatoes, beans and onions to the hot dog chili I fixed on Sunday and fixed some garlic toast.  It was very good!

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Stay healthy!

Thank You, LORD, for your blessings today and for the work Mark and I were able to accomplish today.

Thankful for GREAT Friends!

Mark and I invited some friends from church over for some "fireside chatter!"  The experience is just better with good, Christian friends!  I am so thankful for all of them!

Brand new "colossal" hot dogs.  I kid you not!  These were quarter pounder hot dogs!  They were good!

There is nothing more relaxing than to watch and listen to a fire.

Thank You, LORD, for the blessing of friendship!

Have a great week!
