Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

After church today, we grabbed subs at Subway, took Ilene home and went to the house to eat and change clothes so we could take Jaxon to play T-ball in Wallburg.  It was a beautiful day to play ball!  A little chilly if the sun went behind the clouds and with the breeze, however!  Mark got a sun/wind burn.

It took a little bit for Jaxon to warm up to the game, but he looks very promising!  Good job, little buddy!

Our star player, Jaxon.

First, warm-up

Time to play.  Jaxon was in the pitcher position.  He didn't actually do any pitching, but the ball was thrown back to him from the outfield.  He made some good tosses to first base.

Not sure what to do exactly.

He was practicing his swing in the batter's circle.

Three balls were tossed from the adult pitcher.
If all of those balls were missed then they brought in the T-ball stand.
Jaxon got a good hit in and made it to.....

.....third base!  He could have gone home, but didn't understand
that the coaches were trying to get him to do that.

The second position he played was third baseman.
He's preparing to scoop up the ball when it comes to him!
See videos below.

He had another game after we left that his mommy stayed for and she said he played really well!  It will be fun to watch him progress in his skills!  I ask, Heavenly Father.....Please watch over Jaxon and his little friends and protect them from harm!  Thank You, Lord!

We played Scrabble with Noah when we got back home and before church.

We didn't get finished with the game before church time rolled around, however!  Mark won!

Have a great week!

We Ate It All Gone!

This week started off in a "moving" way!  Let me fill you in!

Monday, Mark and I ate brunch with Elisabeth and the kids at Cracker Barrel in Lexington.  They didn't have school because it was a teacher work day.  We got there and Abby had saved us a seat on either side of her.

Monday evening we went to the Tri-state preacher's meeting at Damascus Baptist Church in Statesville.  The meetings always start at 2 in the afternoon.  They break for a snack after a couple of men preach.  Then at 5 they break for supper.  At Damascus they always go down the street to the community building for a catered meal.  That is where we went first.  After supper we returned to the church for the evening service.

Tuesday morning I woke up at 4 a.m. not feeling well.  Besides being nauseous and having a terrible headache, I spent a LOT of time in the bathroom!  I carried the trash can back and forth with me between the bed and the bathroom.  I stayed in bed ALL DAY on Tuesday.  I ran a fever off and on, too.  I felt miserable!

Wednesday, not long after Mark went to work, I had to change positions because my back was killing me!  So I moved to the recliner.  Asher joined me.  I finally took a chance and ate a banana.  It stayed down!  Later that evening I ate some saltine crackers, too.

Thursday I felt better, but still had a slight headache.  I ate a banana for breakfast, oats for lunch and chicken noodle soup for supper.

Friday I woke up with a headache but it disappeared pretty quickly after taking some tylenol.  I got up at 8:30 and dressed for the first time since Monday.  I felt great!  So I started cleaning up the house.  I worked until around 11:15 and left to pick up Ilene and go to lunch.  Then I spent the rest of the afternoon with her and we finished a puzzle she had started.

Mark left after work to pick up Jaxon and Noah.  I wanted to make pizza at home for our supper, so I had gone to the grocery store before coming home to get ingredients.  Mark did some work around the house before supper.  Noah and Jaxon were not yet hungry, so I was able to clean up the kitchen, load the dish washer, chop the veggies for the pizza and cook the meat.  By that time everyone was getting ready for eating.

Two doves in the driveway.

Cooking the Spicy Italian sausage for the pizza.

Chopping the veggies.

When I got the groceries, I also bought some flowers.
I couldn't resist the beautiful blooms!  YAY for Spring!!

You can see the lines of the mowing Mark did.

Look what bowed its head to hide from the lawn mower!

 Time to start the pizza.

Jaxon requested pepperoni only.  Noah wanted pepperoni, sausage and onions.  Mark wanted everything (black olives vs. green).  I wanted pepperoni, green olives, onions and peppers.

All that's left is the cheese.

Looks YUMMY!

By the time the pizza was done, my stomach was not feeling like it could handle any pizza, so I offered it to the boys.  I forgot to take a picture of the finished pizza, but there was one piece left, which I did end up eating and chased it down with some saltines.  So far so good!

Unfortunately, Mark came home not feeling great with all of the symptoms I had earlier this week.  I was hoping he had missed it.  So, it will probably be a long weekend for him.  Sorry, sweetie!  Lord, please help him to not have the awful headaches I had this week!

Have a great weekend!

Decking The Walls

Since my last post I have really been concentrating on the house, especially since we finally got the entertainment center moved from the parsonage to here.  And this weekend Mark and I have been working in the basement so he can build some more storage shelves to get things off of the floor.  There is always the threat of water damage, especially since we have had so much rain over the past year.

Wall Decorations

This is one of the dining room walls.  I'm not sure if I am done with it yet.

This is our Americana wall in the living room.  I'm not done with it yet.  I will continue to look for items to add as I visit the thrift stores......and Hobby Lobby!

This is another wall in the dining room.  This is my Flower wall.  Everything will center around the big, framed puzzle shown here that Ilene and I completed.  We spent so much time on it......nearly giving up at one point and stuck it under the bed for several months.....that I decided it needed to be framed when we FINALLY got it done!

Entertainment Center/Living Room

The boys, Jaxon and Noah, spent the weekend with us last weekend.  Here they are racing against one another and grandpa using DS game devices.  The cubby hole you see in the background is full of pictures and photo albums that we still need to go through......one of these days!

This picture is dark, but where the recliners are here used to be where the couch in the picture above used to be.  When we moved the entertainment center from the parsonage last weekend, we also moved Tim's recliner.  Jessica Ann and Elisabeth had just given the chair to Tim for Father's Day in June before he passed away in August.  I tried putting the couch against the other wall shown in this picture, but it was too crowded for the recliners.

This picture shows the dining room to the left of the couch.

And here is the monstrous, beautiful entertainment center!  None of the kids wanted it, and I paid too much for it to donate it to Goodwill, and I couldn't have gotten a good price for it by selling it, so Mark let me keep it and we moved his into the kids' den.  Thank you, my love!

Basement

Things have been piled into the center of the basement, needing to be gone through and organized and put into storage on the shelves.....or gotten rid of.

This is the area I worked on this weekend.  I took one load to a Goodwill drop-off location yesterday in the car.  The next load will have to be taken in the bed of Mark's pickup because there is so much!

Mark took some of the stuff from the basement to one of the storage buildings in the back of the house.

All Work And No Play.....

.....makes Jack a very dull boy!  That's what Tim used to say!  Yesterday was beautiful!  So, in the afternoon I decided we needed to take a break from the basement work and enjoy a ride on the bike.  Mark said he would like a Sonic slush puppy, so that is where we went.  I got a delicious new cone Ilene told me about that she had seen advertised.

This heart decoration was on our table at Sonic.  I decided to take a selfie through it!

Here's the delicious Oreo cone I got!

The weather was beautiful, but it was windy.  The crosswinds were wicked to a motorcycle!

Shadow selfie.

Beautiful clouds!

How Now Brown Cow.....

The neighbor's cows have been going through the fence and coming for a visit.  They mess up the yard, especially when the ground is soft after a rain.

Mark scared them off with a BB gun.

Christian Fellowship

This afternoon Bobby Smith texted us to see if we wanted to take a bike ride with him.  We ended up making plans to meet him and Joy and go out to eat supper.  We went to Christo's in Lexington.  The basement will have to wait!

We met them at Sheets in Welcome.

We enjoyed eating and fellowshiping with them.  Thank You, LORD, for Christian friends!

Today's shadow selfie from our trip home.

Praying you all have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow!
