Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Crafty, Artsy Isolation

One of the positive things (among MANY others) that has happened as a result of COVID-19 is that the art community has stepped up and has/is offering lots of craft/art workshops, including workshops for kids, for free.  I'm sure it has been a life-saver for many people who are not used to being home on a daily basis.  I have signed up for several workshops and done several of the projects that I will share here.

There were a couple of projects I did earlier in the month before all of the virus madness began.  This first project is a little book made out of paper bags that was made to swap with someone.  However, right before the project was ready to mail was when the quarantines began, so I get to keep it.  I actually made 3 of these little books because I enjoyed it so much.  The Facebook group making the books is Junk Journal Ideas and the moderator, Donna Phillips, of that group provided some free art to make it an Easter book.  The digital kit I used and printed out for the books was called, "A Touch of Spring" by ArtyMaze (aka Andrea Allen).  I printed the kit out so many times that I used all of my yellow ink and the brown turned out purple for one of the books.  And, anything that had yellow came out very light or disappeared.

Book number 1
The pages were printed from the digital kit of ArtyMaze's; beautiful art work.  The tags, etc. were supplied by Donna, which I had to print out, too.

Book number 2
This is the one I made for myself where the yellow ink ran dry in the printer and the brown turned into purple, which I really like.  Instead of using brown bags, I used white ones.

Book number 3
I made this book using brown bags and a paper scrapbook pack of papers called, Theodosia Square.  I moved the pocket items from the first book to this one.

Next, this was a quickie painting taught by Christie Hawkins of Social Easel.

Next, a mixed media project taught by Jennifer Chamberlin of Artists Unlimited.  Had to take book pages and paint them in several layers and patterns and stamping to use them in creating a couple of whimsical bird pictures.

Next, these were projects for the group, Isolation Art.  We are given a one word prompt for a picture or art work.

Next, these are sketch art done with Sue Kemnitz's teaching class, "21 days of 10 minute Sketches through the Psalms."  I'm really enjoying this.

Next, a free, 5-day family workshop given by Jennifer Chamberlin.  The last day was making a journal, which I did not do.

Next, these are projects from a "24 Hour FREE Online ART PARTY."  I haven't done very many of them yet.

Ryan, Hannah and Abby spent a couple of nights here a couple weeks ago and we did some art, too.  I forgot to take pictures of Hannah's and Ryan's.

Over the winter, I hauled a LOT of crafting stuff from my craft building back into the house because I don't have heat in the She Shed.  I finally got the transition done this week.  WOW!  I did not realize how much stuff I had in the house!

THIRD LOAD FROM THE HOUSE
I took another load back to the house that I forgot to get a picture of.  It took a couple of days to get everything (basically) organized and in place.  Today, I was able to actually do some painting.  I painted the dandelion and palm tree today.

And, in case you have forgotten what my She Shed looks like.......

And, that's a wrap!  Thanks for sharing in my Crafty, Artsy Isolation!  I pray you are all doing well during this time and trusting our sovereign God!
