Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Living Hope

Before I share another song we sang at the conference, I will share some pictures of our time with Liz and family.  They are still living in the camper and any chance to get out and away from it is good for them!  In the Lord's timing they will find the perfect place for them!  Hang in there, Brad, Liz and family!  Thanks for sharing your hot dogs and chips and smores with us!

Liz and I tossed the horse shoes around.

Mine landed in a heart shape one time.  Too bad it was outside the box!

Hannah on the 4 wheeler

Like mother, like daughter.

Mark has been working hard to put a roof over one of the shelters for eating under.

This shelter used to have a tarp on it, but the rain settled in the sags and tore it up.  So he is milling his own boards to fix a better roof and putting tin he has gathered from around the property on the roof.

Ryan drove the buggy most of the time.

Brad took Abby around on the 4 wheeler.

Hannah and Ryan

The adults in conversation.

Liz brought pumpkins for the kids to carve.

I gave Mark one of the bird feeders to bring down to the woods.  This Titmouse and a Chickadee made lots of trips to the feeder.

Abby enjoyed swinging on the swing set from her house.

Time to get the fires going for the hot dogs.  And, of course, there were smores, too!  What is a camp fire without smores?!

Liz melted the graham cracker wrapper to her skewer.

Time to light the pumpkins.

It was an impromptu visit, but we had a great time, even if it was just for a couple of hours!

Click on the title to listen to the song.  The chasm that lies between us as sinners and God was created in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit God forbade them to eat.  I'll never understand why God chose to show mercy instead of justice, but I'm so glad He did!  Without that mercy, we would all be headed straight to hell....do not pass go, do not collect $200!  STRAIGHT TO HELL!!  Hallelujah!  Praise the One who set me free!  Has He set you free?  Or are you still living in death's grip?  Trust Jesus to be your Savior before it is eternally too late!

Living Hope

How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night

Then through the darkness,
Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame

The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus, Yours is the victory, whoa!

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope...
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Oh God, You are my living hope

HALLELUJAH!  JESUS CHRIST IS OUR ONLY HOPE!!!
