Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Sunday Happenings

After church today, we came home for lunch, which I had to cook.  I took some pork roast and cut it up into bite sized pieces and cooked it in coconut oil with some minced garlic, salt and pepper and some Bragg's Amino Acids (soy sauce replacement).  When the pork was done, I added some onion and peppers and half of a bag of frozen stir fry veggies.  I covered it and let it simmer for about 15 minutes and our stir fry was done.  YUM!

This afternoon Mark went out to piddle around in his shed and out at the pit area.  I watered the veggies and flowers and refilled the bird feeder and hung a suet feeder.  I took down one of the bird feeders because the squirrels had started biting out the feed holes.  I'm going to get another one with a wire cage around it to keep the squirrels from chewing it up!  I gave the other bird feeder to Mark to take to the fire pit area.

Tomatoes are appearing!

Peppers are appearing!

See the beginnings of that little pepper?

Woodpecker was first to visit the refilled feeder.

We had a thunder storm this afternoon.  It was nice sitting on the deck and listening to the rain on the metal deck roof.

The baby wrens are getting big!  Mark thinks they may take flight this week!

If you look at the tire in the middle of the picture and bring your eyes straight up, you will see where we have hung the bird feeder for now.

Mark added the slide to the side of the swing set for now.

A man and his dog.

I got a "Veggetti" spaghetti maker.  I got it to turn zucchini into spaghetti.  So, I tried it tonight for our supper.  I was very pleased with how it worked!  I cooked it in some avocado oil with garlic, salt and pepper and Italian spice.  I had some leftover hamburger with marinara sauce that I heated up with the "spaghetti" after the spaghetti was done.

Add some cheese and eat!  It was delicious!  The only thing missing was garlic bread!

Here's a couple of audio books I have listened to lately.  Mesu Andrews is definitely an author that I recommend for Christian fiction!

And that's a wrap for our Sunday!  Praying you have a blessed week!

Walking For Exercise

I have always enjoyed walking for exercise.  But, while I've got TONS of acreage to walk around, I like walking on flat, level surfaces best.  So this week I started walking at the park over by Mark's shop.  There are lots of trees that shade a lot of the walking path.  I was told that 3 laps around make a mile.  I did 3 laps the first 2 days in less than 20 minutes.  I added a lap the 3rd day and added another lap today to make 1 2/3 miles in about 30 minutes, give or take.  So, I'd say I'm doing better than I expected!  Mark said he would walk some with me, so we may try going before he goes to work.

I remembered I had this hat and decided to wear it today since it was hot and the sun was shining brightly!  I put my hair in a pony tail and drew the string that normally ties under your chin up under the pony tail.  I was hoping that would help to keep the hat on my head when the breezes blew!  There really wasn't much breeze today!

Yesterday, Mark and I went to Salisbury to help Liz and Brad do some more packing.  Brad really needed Mark to help with the furniture.  Liz and I didn't have too much to do.  Liz took this picture of Mark and I as we were leaving the restaurant we went to and headed for home.

We went back to Salisbury again tonight to pick up the swing set and a patio table that Liz and Brad were giving us.  They were going to make a special trip tomorrow afternoon to bring it to us, but they are so busy getting everything done before the closing next Wednesday that I told her we would save them a trip and time and come in Mark's truck and trailer.

We had to keep watch on the trailer to make sure none of the straps loosened too much.  Mark had to stop twice to tighten some of the straps holding the swing set on.

Both the swing set and the table went to the fire pit area.

We put the table under the shelter in the back.  Here's what the area looks like with the lights on!  Looks very cozy to me!

This is a sketch of the old church building in Buffalo, WV.  Tim bought it one year at the Heritage Days.  I found it when I was unpacking some boxes of pictures and stuff from the church office and decided it needed to go back to the church where it belongs.  I'm not sure why he carried it with us to North Carolina, anyway.  Liz is going to try and drop it off at Stephanie Jividen's house sometime next week later in the week when they are up there visiting.  Stephanie, Lonnie is expecting the picture.  Thanks for taking it to the church for me.

And, that's all I have for today.  I'm tired and should sleep well tonight!  Have a blessed LORD's day tomorrow!  We are going to be required to wear masks during the services.

One Day Closer

Mark and I went to Salisbury to help with more packing and moving it to storage.  Mostly it was Mark and Brad and Ryan helping with the heavy furniture.  Liz and I packed up a few more boxes,  but we didn't do any of the heavy work.

We rode the bike and arrived at 1. Brad had fixed lunch,  so we ate before they began working. Around 4, we got in the pool to cool off. And then we went to The Smoke Pit restaurant in Salisbury where Brad treated us to supper.  It was delicious!  Thanks again, Brad!❤

Mark and I headed home from the restaurant.  We chose a different route than we came because it isn't fun riding the bike on the expressway!  And, as it turned out,  we got home about the same time and it was a much more enjoyable trip! 85.3 miles round trip for us.

There are only the beds, which are laying on the floor,  and miscellaneous last minute stuff still needing packed for storage  and moved to the camper. The new owners take posession next Wednesday!

We are praying the Lord allows your bid to be accepted on the property of your dreams,  Liz and Brad! And that everything you need happens quickly! 🙏❤

To Do, To Do, To Do.......

Do you ever feel like the To Do list for home projects is never ending but always growing?  Sometimes it seems like one thing gets taken care of and 3 others take its place on the list.  Tis the life of homeowners, I suppose!

We have talked about the septic tank needing to be emptied, but it became very apparent in May when the family came for Memorial Day weekend that we needed to do something soon.  We had to have the family throw their toilet paper into the trash can if they peed and don't flush.  "If it's brown, send it down.  If it's yellow, let it mellow!"

This week we got the job done!  Mark found where the septic tank was earlier in the week and today it was pumped!

Mark began filling it back in tonight after flushing a couple of times to make sure it was going into the septic tank.

And speaking of flushing and having to add items to the To Do list.............

A couple of weeks ago, as some friends were arriving for supper, the flushing mechanism to the toilet messed up by breaking off of the flush handle!  OY VEY!!  So, we have the lid off the back of the commode and are using the broken arm inside the tank to pull up until Mark can get it fixed.

And the list goes on!  And the list goes on!

Such is life on planet Earth!  :D

Tomorrow Mark and I are going to Salisbury to help Brad and Elisabeth move furniture to storage and the boxes and totes Liz and I packed up this week.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
Thank You, LORD, for a great week!

More Packing

I should be taking pictures of all of the boxes and totes that we have packed, but I didn't think about it.  But I did think to take a picture this afternoon, when we took a break after packing, of my beautiful, youngest daughter and myself as we relaxed outside under the shade tree.  What a pleasant breeze was blowing as we rested and watched the kids play in the pool!

Thank You, LORD, for the blessing of daughters.......and sons!  :D

Packing, Moving

I went to Elisabeth's today to help her do some packing of the boxes I gave to her last week.  We packed up everything in the kitchen except what will go into the camper.  Speaking of the camper, I got the grand tour today........

The kids' bedroom.  On the right, the platform at an angle drops down onto the wedges to make another bed.

The living room and dining room area.

The kitchen and TV/fire place area.

Master bedroom.

Looking down the length of the camper from the master bedroom.

The bathroom is pretty nice!

AND, the neat thing is this grilling kitchen on the outside of the camper!!

Supper tonight.....chicken and mixed veggies roasted.

Liz mentioned today that they were going to get some totes to store clothes in.  I told her we had some they could use.  I went to one of the out buildings and threw what was there out on the grass so I could sort through them and match up lids to them.

And, here is everything matched up.  I'm taking the 24 totes stacked in the center of the picture tomorrow for Liz to use.

Our septic tank needs to be emptied, so Mark began digging to find the opening.  He was ringing wet by the time he was finished!  He is going to call tomorrow and find out if he needs to go ahead and get the lid off before they come to pump it out.

And that was our Monday!  Thank You, LORD, for the work we were able to accomplish!
