Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

June Birthdays

June is a busy month for birthdays!
Michael - June 9
Nellie - June 19
Nathanael - June 20
Chance - June 21
Jessica - June 28
It seems I have forgotten someone!..........

Nellie's 4 year old celebration was on Saturday.  Because of COVID-19, the party was low key, most people dropping off their presents and leaving.

Nellie is going to begin horseback riding for physical therapy!

Presents!  Lots and Lots of pretty presents!

Daddy and grandpa.

Amber did a great job shaping the cupcakes into a horse!

Daddy giving Nellie money!

Chocolate lip stick!

Chance opened his gift from us today.  He turned 10 years old!  He is saving his money until he gets $100!  And then he is going to buy something!  :D

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week I went to Ilene's.  On Monday I took some chicken stew for our lunch.  On Tuesday we went to COSTCO  where we had to wear a mask, which they provided if you didn't have one.  I asked if it was required and was told yes, however, there were several people in the store that were not wearing masks.  I don't know if they took them off or what.

After we went to COSTCO, we went to Olive Garden for lunch.  Next we went to Lowe's where Ilene purchased some outdoor carpet for her porch.  Then we went back to her house where we started a new puzzle.

At COSTCO, Ilene bought a rotisserie chicken and I bought some frozen stir fry veggies and we had Mark come to her house for supper.  After a supper of chicken and mixed, roasted veggies, we played cards until time to go home so Mark could go to bed for work the next day.

On Wednesday I took the last of the chicken stew for our lunch and we continued to work on the puzzle until we finished it around 3.  I went home to begin supper for Mark and she went to her daughter's house.

Wouldn't it be nice to be occupying those chairs in front of the lake?

Here are some cool storm cloud pictures I took on the way to church on Wednesday evening.

For supper on Thursday, I made a turkey sausage and egg and veggie casserole.  It was yummy!  I covered the bottom of a 13x9 pan with oil and spread spinach in the bottom.  Then I added the egg, sausage, almond milk, cheddar cheese and veggies.  Added more cheese on top and baked it.  For the veggies:  onion, peppers, mushrooms, and the spinach.  It is very filling and satisfying!

And, of course, we enjoyed it out on the deck.

Mark's daughter, Jenifer treated him (and me) to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's today for lunch.  Thanks, Jen!

We played cards on the deck tonight.  Piper, the doberman, loves being petted and loved on!  If Mark pets her just a little, that isn't enough, so she lays her head in his lap........

......or has to be touching him in some way.  She is so funny!

We have baby wrens!  They have a tiny peep!  When we made any noise, they peeped.

I climbed up on a step ladder to take the pictures and get this video of them.  I made a noise to get them to peep.  So sweet!  It reminded me of the song we sang at church today, "This Is My Father's World."

This Is My Father's World
by Maltbie Davenport Babcock

This is my Father's world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world,
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world.
The battle is not done.
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heav'n be one

Tomorrow I will be going to my daughter's house in Salisbury to help her begin packing up the house.  Their closing date is July 7!  They bought this camper to live in until they get their property and a house built.  I'm sure I will get the grand tour tomorrow!  :D

Pray for the kids' camp in Boone this week, sponsored by Damascus Baptist Church.  Our pastor will be there to help with the teaching and preaching.  May the Lord pour out His Spirit and kids be drawn to Him!

Have a great week!
