Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Rainy Days and Mondays

You know the song well, I am sure.  And you can thank me for your wanting to hum it the rest of the day!  😁  And, if that wasn't enough, here you go.....

Rainy Days and Mondays by The Carpenters

Lyrics

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothin' ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around
Some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.

Funny, but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me (the one who loves me)

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out (talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do (only thing to do)
Run and find the one who loves me

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out (talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

All of that being said, I'm not "down" today, even though it IS a Monday and HAS BEEN a rainy day!  Actually, the rain has been nice!  And I've enjoyed the day because Hannah, Ryan and Abby have been here.  They will be here through Wednesday as their mom is working at their school in prep work for the start of another school year on September 8th.

Unfortunately, with it raining, the kids couldn't be out in the woods riding the trails.  So, we played some games of UNO Attack, they watched TV.  They also played on their phones and tablet.  And they ate!

Abby wanted to help me with dishes after supper.

Ryan and Mark played games on the computer and we girls went to the store for sweets!  YUM!

Liz wonders, "Do you think the Kindergartners will be afraid of these masks?"  She made a good point.....it will be easier to teach with the kids being able to see their mouths move.

After the rain Hannah and Ryan went for a walk back in the woods.  Yesterday evening, on their walk, they found a pistol.  They called me to tell me about it.  Mark went down to check it out.  He brought it back to the house, disassembled it and called the sheriff.  They came to his work today and picked it up.  They will file it as lost.  We were so glad to know that the kids would call us in a circumstance such as that.  The gun was loaded!  Thank You, LORD, for giving them the wisdom to call us and not do anything stupid with the gun!

If you have been on our property, back in the woods, and lost a gun, you will have to take it up with the police and file a missing gun report.  You will have to give them the description as I am not going to reveal it here.

Hope your Monday was a good one!  Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice! 💓
