Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

BRRRRR!!!!!

Even though the sunshine was BEAUTIFUL today, it was very cold!  The wind went clear through to the bone!  Tim's weather station measured gusts of up to 26 mph!

We had a few things to get at Walmart, so Tim went with me.  I needed to get a camera bag and an SD card for the camera.  He needed to get some Neosporin for the surgery site.  And we needed gas in the car.  He had to sit in the car while the gas pumped because the wind was so ferocious!

After getting back from the store I was able to do a little practicing with the new camera.  After 5 pictures and a short video I am VERY pleased!

Look at that beautiful sky!  I've never gotten a good picture of a hawk in flight.

LOVE the clarity of the pictures!

Beautiful, even though that has got to be one of the UGLIEST trees I have ever seen!
And here is a short video I took of Tim's weather station.  I need to adjust the sound on the camera, so be sure your volume is turned all the way up.  Well, the video was just barely too big, so I could not upload it.  I'll do another video sometime of Tim's weather station and post it on here.

The rest of the day I spent on the computer.  I worked on the checkbook and cleared out all of 2016's stuff and got it ready for 2017.  I did some laundry.  Tim and I cleaned the church because the lady from church who was scheduled to clean is sick.  After supper I worked on some digital pictures, adding some clip art to them that I got for free from Ali Edwards December Daily give away.

Nite all!

In the Nikon of Time.......

Today.  A beautiful day.  A blustery, windy day.  Lots of sunshine.  Warm temperature.  Did I mention lots of wind?!

Look at that beautiful sky!  60+ degrees, but very windy!

The day began pretty early (for me).  Earlier than usual because we had places to go, people to see and things to do!  Tim woke me up at 7 a.m.  I showered and fixed my hair before getting the girls up at 8 a.m.  We left the house at 8:30.  We headed to the Salisbury Cracker Barrel where we met Liz and Ryan for breakfast.  Then we went to the Rowan County Goodwills in Liz's van.  We left our car parked at Cracker Barrel.

Abby was just about asleep by the time we reached Cracker Barrel

A selfie with Hannah.  I know.  It looks like she is on the same side as Abby, but my selfies are backwards.

Bargains.  I found a few.   Nothing to get too excited about.  I did find a sun hat for vacation.

Trying to show off the colors and the cute charms hanging down.

A better view of the charms.

Besides the hat, I found a couple of books, a stencil and a rack to organize my baking pans.

We finished up thrifting and was back to the house by at least 2 p.m.  I started working on putting things away, cleaning up the kitchen, putting bedding away, washing the guest room bedding, putting toys away, etc.  I had everything pretty well cleaned up by the time Tim finished the bulletin and was ready to leave at 3:30.

We went to one of our usual Goodwills and then went to supper at Chili's.

Then we headed to Best Buy to find a new camera and tablet.  The camera for me and the tablet for Tim from our Christmas money.

My new Nikon Coolpix B700 Digital point and shoot camera.  20.3 megapixels and 60X zoom!  I'm all about the zoom!  :D  This camera is able to connect with your phone for uploading your pictures.  I doubt that I will be doing that.  I wanted a better camera for vacation, however this was not the camera I wanted, because it was more expensive than the one I wanted that was on display (that they didn't have any in stock).  Actually, there were very few cameras left in stock after Christmas!  It is aggravating to me that they promote cameras but don't have them in stock!  After Christmas or not!  Same for the tablet that Tim wanted.  Oh well!  No need crying over it.  :D

OK, that's it for me!

A "GRAND" Time

Yes, we've been quite busy since Christmas with our GRANDchildren, Hannah, Ryan and Abby.  I wish we could spend more time with all of the GRANDchildren.

Three of the four of our children and their families made it to our house to spend Christmas with us.  It was, as usual, a WONDER-FULLY short time!  BUT, I did better with the meals this time and didn't spend quite as much time in the kitchen.  But the time still passed too quickly.  Anyway, everyone left around 2:15 p.m. on Christmas day, Sunday afternoon.  So, Tim helped me clean up the kitchen and I straightened up the living and dining room area and did some laundry.  Then, later on in the evening, after they had their Christmas, we met Liz halfway between here and Salisbury and we brought Hannah, Ryan and Abby back to spend a couple of days with us while they are still on Christmas break.

So, here are some pictures from our time with them this week.

Monday, December 26th

No visit is complete without a McDonald's run!

And, no visit is complete without a visit to Thom-A-Lex park to feed the ducks.

The temperature was warm, almost 60.  But, the sky was pretty much cloud covered.

Finishing a craft started on Saturday, Christmas Eve.

Abby built a snowman out of cotton balls.  The eyes and mouth are a sharpie marker.  The nose was a sharpened orange colored pencil.

Game time.

Abby almost hit the bulls eye!

Last, but not least.....movie time.

Tuesday, December 27th
Normally, we cannot take the kids to see a movie because they have seen all the new movies.  BUT, not this time!  We went to see the animated musical where all of the musicians/singers are animals.

Did I also mention that the budget is quickly broken when the GRANDS visit?!  :D

Doing some coloring

Time to play the matching game

Abby did really well and won the first game, but........

I won the second game.  :D

And, we end another evening with a movie.
Wednesday, December 28th
Today we met Liz in Lexington at the Goodwill to give Ryan back to her.  He said he wanted to go to his own church.  The girls wanted to stay, so mommy brought them some church clothes.
After breakfast, Abby helped papaw empty the dishwasher.

Tonight is the last night for the girls.  We are going to meet Liz for breakfast at Cracker Barrel for breakfast tomorrow morning and then we are all going to go thrifting at the Rowan County Goodwills.  The kids are not looking forward to that part!

So, a good week all in all.

Nite!
