Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

HEY!

I know! I've been absent for a couple of days! I have taken a bit of a break from the "burning" and have been trying to finish up some digital kits for various projects that are due by Saturday! I've also been knitting! That's about it, really! Here's a couple of pictures I took of the flowers outside, just to give you SOMETHING to look at! :) Tim didn't know I was taking a picture of him in the last one! :)

Pro Life Charity Collab

Well, I finally finished (I really wasn't finished, I just quit!) with my portion of the pro-life charity collab that I was telling you about last week. Here is the preview. I purposely made it a small image. Not even sure I'm supposed to be posting it now, so.......shhhhhh! don't tell! I'll give you a better preview when it is time for the collab donations! (Click on the preview and you will be able to see a bigger preview!) :)

Hope you had a blessed Sunday! And that you are ready for a brand new week! Got a text from Cheryl tonight (of course, you girls probably did, too) that she "has a job waiting for her and Nat put in for his transfer." I told her that I was praying the LORD's will be done in the situation! I truly would LOVE for them to be closer to the rest of the family, even as scattered out as we are! 4 1/2 hours is ALOT closer than 9!!!

Love you all!

I'm BURNT Out!

A little pun there! :)

I told you that I would be "burning" DVDs like a mad woman since I have my EHD accessible on my laptop, and that is just what I have been doing! It takes 2-3 hours to burn ONE DVD, for whatever reason, on my laptop! YIKES! So, here I am, 13 DVDs later, and I am getting quite SICK of doing this! BUT, I am persevering to the end! Today, between loads of laundry, etc, I will continue to "burn" and also try to get some much needed knitting done! That baby shower is gonna be here BEFORE I'm ready for it!

Here's a picture of my "burn" station! Sitting to the right of my computer desk and the laptop and EHD have not been turned off in days! Mainly because I'm afraid to disrupt the connections to the EHD! :) We only had 9 DVDs so we bought a pack of 100 last night! YIKES! Since Tim and I have been out on dates, etc. the last 2 days (Thursday we had a picnic at a park and walked the walking trails, then went to a dinner sponsored by the Assisted Living facility we support every month. Friday we went to see "The Last Song" and what a tear-jerker that was, ladies!) I have been staying up til 2:30-3:00 AM doing burning and trying to finish a baby kit that will be designated for charity with all proceeds going to a Pro-Life group! So, don't be upset, girls, that I WILL NOT be giving this kit to you! I want you to "buy" it for the good of the cause! I think it will be by donation. I'll tell you more about it later (mid May).

Have a great Saturday, everyone! The tornado weather from the west is supposedly moving this way, but it is bright and sunny right now! Love you all (friends and family included! :)

EHD Update

Good morning!
Do I have good news and blessings from the LORD!
As you know, I have been corresponding with Verbatim, the maker of my EHD, for the last couple of days. They have had me try things (which I had already tried on my own) to no avail. HOWEVER, yesterday's suggestion WORKED!!! Tim and I didn't hold much hope that it would, so I didn't try it yesterday. Their suggestion was to start the computer with the EHD plugged in and powered on already. I tried it first on my desktop PC, which is about 5 years old and running XP. Didn't work. Didn't get past the blue boot screen. I may not have given it enough time, but, anyway, I moved on to try it with my laptop, which is only 2 years old, maybe, and running Vista. It took FOREVER for it to load, but it worked!!! YEAH, I'm dancin' a happy dance! (Just a figure of speech, you understand! This body doesn't have enough soul to dance, lol!) Anyway, I am, as we speak, working feverishly to copy the files that I want (pictures first!) to DVDs!

Thanks to those of you who made this a matter of prayer! God was good to bless me with good results, in spite of myself!

So, girls, until further notice, you may put the CDs of pictures I made for you back in a SAFE place! :)

And, Michael, just wanted to say THANKS again for your sweet offer to pay for the professionals to retrieve the files and/or my sending the EHD to you to work with! I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know in this life! :)

Love you all!

EHD Update

No good news yet. However, I have made contact with Verbatim and am waiting to hear from them before I call them. I noted to them that I had unplugged it from the USB without turning the power off first. Hopefully this will give them an idea of what the problem is and, most importantly, that it is fixable!

Thanks for all of your heart-felt sympathy and prayers for me in knowing how to move forward. I can tell you that, as sweet as the offer was, Tim and I agree that we will not have our son pay the exorbitant price to retrieve the files. If those were the only pictures we had or, God forbid, we would never be seeing our family again, then those pictures would be more valuable! It pains me to say this, but there are more important things in life (gasp!) than losing those files and pictures! And, even though LOTS of hard work is gone, too, it will just have to be! There is a purpose for this happening, so I will look for the lesson(s) and move forward, hopefully having learned the lesson(s)!!! :)

BTW, girls! IF I cannot get the files back, I WILL be borrowing all of those CDs that I made for you of the grandkids, our vacations together, etc! :)

Sad News

Because of my own carelessness and not thinking before I acted, I have lost 7 years of pictures, layouts, kits......everything.....because my 1TB EHD crashed!

I was getting ready to move files from my laptop (that I had worked on while we traveled last week) onto the EHD and without thinking I pulled the USB cord out of the PC to plug it into the laptop, without turning the EHD off first! I plugged it into the laptop where I promptly got a message that the EHD was malfunctioning! You know that sick feeling that comes over you when you have just realized that something TERRIBLE has happened?! Well, that is the feeling I got! It was like a slap in the face and all of a sudden I realized what I had done that the owner's manual SPECIFICALLY tells you NOT to do! UGHH!!!

We took the EHD to a computer store today and was promptly informed they were not capable of retrieving the files and if we took it to a professional store who was equipped to do it, be prepared to pay about $700! YIKES!! I am totally sick and disgusted with myself!

SIGH!

What I've been up to.....

I know some of you are wondering what I've been up to lately, besides designing digital scrapbooking kits! So, here is a little run down and a few pictures!

I guess I'll begin with today and work backwards as far as my memory will let me, lol!
Today, I have been working on re-potting some of the indoor plants I got last week. The bigger ones in the back 2 pots are from a planter from a funeral a couple months or so ago that Tim had stuck in the dish the prayer plant is in with the prayer plant! So you can tell that there was more plant than there was dish, lol! The plant that is now with the prayer plant is one Tim traded me for a similar plant with smaller leaves. The other 3 pots/dishes along the front of the table are the plants I bought last week. The one on the left in the striped dish is a pothos, I believe. I think I remember that it has been called Devil's ivy. Why, I don't know! The 4 plants in the pretty white dish with the tulips painted on it may have to be divided at some point. I just don't know how much the plants will grow or what size they will get. There is a pothos in this dish, too. Plus a couple of plants with variegated leaves. I'll have to take some close up pictures so you can see how pretty they are. The plant in the pot furthest to the right is one that I have no clue what it is.

Yesterday, the electricity was off for about 5 hours. I had just sat down in the laundry/sewing room to hem a pair of pants to a suit Tim got at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago when everything went black! Not really black as it was around noon, lol! But I think you know what I mean. So, I took my sewing to another part of the house that was on the sunny side. In the mean time, Tim checked the wiring and there was no electricity coming into the house, so he called the power company. It was a couple of hours before they came to check out the problem. They were going to have to replace the transformer on the pole. So they left and the next crew arrived about an hour later. An hour and a half later we had electricity again! While all of this was going on, and after I finished hemming Tim's pants, I worked on Sawyer's crib blanket. Here is the only picture I will show of the blanket, so as not to give away too much of it! It IS supposed to be a surprise! :)

Well, my memory is starting to fail me! I cannot remember exactly when I planted the other flowers I bought a couple weeks ago, but I took these pictures on Monday. They are looking very nice! This is not all I planted, but will give you a good idea. I also planted a couple of daffodils, and a couple of tulips and some dahlias and some hyacinth. The hyacinth smell WONDERFUL!!

Marigold
not sure, but I love the purple centers!
Pinks
Phlox
not sure but I love the flowers!
Well, there's a bit of bringing-you-up-to-date! Tomorrow, Tim wants to go to the North Carolina Botanical Garden which is somewhere between Greensboro and Raleigh. I'm sure I'll have pictures! :)
