Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Sure is Quiet..........

Kara is such a sweet and good little girl!  It was great having her here for a few days!  I don't think she realized how much she missed her mommy until she saw her today at lunch!  It was just the right length of time for her to be away (and for us) from her family.  Last year when she stayed from Wednesday to Monday, it was too long for her.  We were both in tears at one point!  But, I think her being a year older helped us this year, too!  I loved hearing her say, "I love you, Mamaw!" several times during the day!  It didn't matter what we were doing, she would tell me she loved me!  Sure gave me a lift!  :D

I was too tired to post any more pictures last night, so I will post some today from yesterday.  We just hung out in the house all day.  Hopefully I can upload some goofy video, too.  I wish I had gotten some pictures of her admiring herself in the mirror with her straightened hair!  Too funny!

Michael and Jessica, THANKS so much for lunch today!  We enjoyed our time with you!   Thanks for letting us keep Kara for a couple of days!  :D

We love you, Kara Bear!

Sleeping Beauty

I couldn't resist snapping these pictures of our little Sleeping Beauty!  Unfortunately, the last flash woke her up!  I'll post more pictures later today.

Last night after bath, she started talking about straightening her hair with a hot iron.  After talking about her Grandma Stewart's beautifully long, straight hair, I asked her if she wanted me to dry hers and straighten it.  She said, "SHUWA!"  I cannot believe how patiently she stood there for probably 20 minutes while I dried her hair and then ironed it!  Half way through she wanted to see, so I pulled each half around to the front so she could see the difference between the curly and the straight sides.  She said, "WOW!"  with a big smile!  I said, "Is that what you want?"  She said, "YES, it's perfect!"  So, I continued on the other half.  When done she said, "I want to see!"  So, I split her hair in the back and dragged both sides to the front so she could see.  Her reaction was.............are you ready?..................."WOW!  I'm GORGEOUS!!!!"  I laughed out loud!  She had the biggest grin on her face!  She IS a GORGEOUS child!  :D  I think she takes after me!  :D   NOT!  She is her BEAUTIFUL mother and dad!  Sorry, dad!  But you are a beautiful man!  Right, Jessica?! :D

Have a blessed Sunday!

I AM POOPED!!! :D

I know why the LORD gives us children when we are young!  I am totally pooped!  I am way beyond the non-stop energy of kids!  :D

Kara woke up at approx. 9 this morning after going to bed around midnight.  That was pretty good!  It won't be as late tonight because of church tomorrow!  She is "winding down" with Elmo in Grouchland right now!  I am drying clothes and catching up on e-mail.

We watched cartoons for a bit this morning before heading out to the park to feed the ducks.  It was a beautiful day!  Lots of sunshine, but the wind was chilly!  We started out with jackets, but being out in the sun and running around the playground we shed our jackets.  Cheerios is the best thing to feed the ducks!  And, the seagulls enjoyed them, too!   The original plan was to go to McDonalds after feeding the ducks, but Kara decided that she wanted cheerios for lunch!  So back to the house we headed.  After eating, we played inside for a bit and then went outside.

I'm going to retire with Kara tonight!  Tomorrow will be a busy day!  Roast is in the crockpot, the last load of clothes will come out of the dryer soon.  Then off to bed, sleepy head!  :D

Kara

It is almost 11 and we just finished watching Ice Age!

We left this morning at 8:30 to meet Jessica half way between here and Maryland to bring Kara back with us for the weekend.  We ate lunch in the car, picked her up and were on our way back by noon.  We arrived back home at 3:05.  Kara and I went outside and played croquet and she played on the swing.  Then it was time for fixing supper for papaw, which she helped me do.  After supper we went to the park.  Rosa went with us!  After we left the park we stopped at McDonalds in Walmart for ice cream and to fill up our water container.  I noticed that I did not have my phone with me and I told Kara I hoped Papaw was not getting worried about us since it was now dark!  Unfortunately, when we got home, papaw was NOT!  I found my phone and saw that he had called me not once but TWICE!!!  I hated it!  I called him and told him we were home and safe!  He was aggravated, I could tell!  I told Kara we would have to make sure I didn't forget the phone next time!

Anyway, here's some pictures from today.

Good Night!

The Work of an Evangelist

We went to the Billy Graham Library near Charlotte, NC today.  Wonderful trip.

I kept the page very simple to focus on the painting of Billy Graham.  This is a paper from my new kit I'm working on, "Spring Time is Mine!"

Yesterday and Today

I got busy working on another kit last night and didn't get my page done before midnight!  So, I decided to just wait and post it with the page for today.  Today's page is made using the new kit I'm working on!  It is MUCH brighter in color than my last kit that you have seen TONS of layouts with.  I'm LOVIN' the new colors!  What do you think?

I used a quick page for yesterday's page.

Here's a sneak peek at my new kit, "Spring Time Is Mine."  Liz, you gotta try this recipe!

My Beloved

The LORD works in mysterious and wondrous ways!  I know it was God who brought Tim and I together!  I'll have to share that story on another day!  I am sooooooo thankful for the LORD's providential workings in mine and Tim's lives!

Fellowship One With Another

We had a really good time of fun and fellowship during our church activity of bowling.  Tim was HOT on his second game!  Probably the highest score he has gotten in his life!  After 2 1/2 hours of laughter and cheers, we all went to eat at a nearby restaurant.....all 17 of us!  We really worked up an appetite!  Not me, I didn't bowl, but I didn't eat lunch to save up for the meal!

God So Loved

For January 26th I did a page on Valentine's Cards.  So right then and there I decided I was going to send more cards this year!  And, I did the mailing today!  The grandkids will be pleasantly surprised on Saturday, according to the lady at the post office!  :D  Well, I got an unexpected Valentine card from my mother-in-law today!  How sweet of her!  And I thank her publicly!  The funny part is that Tim opened the card because he thought it was addressed to Mr. Tim Day.  After reading his mom's note in it he brought it to me and said, "I think mom sent this to me by mistake, because she would not have signed her name.  She would have signed as "Mom!"  I didn't give it a thought that it might be for me, LOL!  So he e-mailed her about it.  A little while later he brought the card back to me and said, "She said the card is for you, not me!"  I just laughed!  He dug the envelope out of the trash and, sure enough, it was addressed to............MRS. Tim Day!    THAT would be ME!  :D

I used my "Love, the Greatest of These" kit.

Eat

I had a turkey burger for lunch yesterday, so I knew that I was gonna have to spice it up somehow for tonight's meal!  Since the plan was to have turkey burgers, beans and salad, I decided to make some Bean Burgers similar to what mom used to make.  She would take a hamburger pattie and slice some onion on top of it.  Then she would top that with chili beans.  I am thinking she placed this on the bottom half of a bun and baked it, but the more I think about it, that doesn't sound right.  And now that I think about it, she make have cooked the hamburger patty first before adding the toppings and baking it.  Anyway, what I fixed definitely HELPED those tasteless turkey burgers!

I used my "A Fresh Start Add-on" for this page.

Redemption Draweth Nigh

Redemption Draweth Nigh
Written by: Gordon Jensen

V. 1

Years of time have come and gone
Since I first heard it told
Of how Jesus would come again some day
If back then it seemed so real
Then I just can’t help but feel
How much closer His coming is today

[Chorus]

Signs of the times are everywhere
There’s a brand new feeling in the air
Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky
Lift up your head redemption draweth nigh

V. 2
Wars and strife on every hand
And violence fills the land
Still some people doubt He’ll ever come again
But the Word of God is true
He’ll redeem His chosen few
Don’t lose hope soon Christ Jesus will descend

Repeat chorus, then
Lift up your head redemption draweth nigh

Gifts

I forgot to do a page with last week's Providence 365 verse, so I used it for today's page.  I took the picture yesterday afternoon of my SS class.  I blended the picture into a green bg from my A Fresh Start kit.

It WAS Good! and Peace and Safety

We traveled to WV for the preacher's meeting on Friday.  It was so good to fellowship with the pastors and their wives!  Not to mention enjoying the preaching!  It was a 3 1/2 hour trip.  We got back home around 11:30 so I didn't feel like working on a page and getting it posted.  So, here is my page for Friday and Saturday.  Saturday's is the verse prompt for this past week.  Have a blessed Sunday!

Corrupt Communication

Tim and I went to Whole Foods to get some organic food and to eat lunch today.  Half of the lunch we brought home to eat tonight.  Then we went to see a movie, which we have not done in quite a while.  This movie had been reviewed by a blogging friend, Karen of Candid Diversions, so I knew it would be a decent movie to see.

Be Ye Kind to One Another

What a beautiful day it was today!  So pretty that we went to the park to walk for half an hour.  Well, this FAT body couldn't keep up the pace for half an hour!  But, I'm determined that by summer I will be able to!  Even though I told Tim he could continue to walk he didn't.

Liz, the second picture is the ski mask I have done for Hannah.  I need you to measure her from the eyes down to her shoulders.  Take the measurement from the side, like the top of the ear since that is basically where the eye would begin.

I used my "Love, the Greatest of These" kit again for today's page.  I'm getting ALOT of mileage out of this kit, for sure!  :D

Wife of Thy Youth

Tim has been reading a lot of books on eating healthfully (healthily??) the last couple of weeks.  And it involves getting rid of as many of the preservatives and chemicals as possible from the foods you eat.  He has been buying fresh fruits, organic type cereal, green tea, etc.  So I asked him yesterday when we went to Walmart to pick up a few items what the deal was with all this stuff he was buying.  He basically said that since he is not eligible to receive Social Security since he opted out of it when he first started his ministry (not than anyone else will get it, either by the time he is ready) he is going to be preaching for a whole bunch more years.  And since that is the case, he needs to be getting healthier.  He said he wanted to take me with him through all of those years, but his concern is that if I keep gaining more and more weight every year that I won't be able to help him because of poor health or worse yet I won't even be around.  That wouldn't be worse for me, but you know what I mean!  Anyway, that's paraphrasing what he said and I know he understands neither of us may live that long, anyway, as that is in the LORD's hands, but I just thought that was the sweetest thing he could have said to me!  So, I had to accept his invitation!  The picture below is of the organic cereal I ate for lunch.  It was REALLY good!  My kind of cereal with whole grains and nuts!  And, let me tell you, it held me for most of the afternoon!  But, right now, I am wanting a salty snack REALLY bad!!!  I might have to go to bed early to keep from eating!  :D

I used my "Morning Has Broken" kit for this page.
