Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Hunger Pangs

I went to the grocery store with 2.....TWO.....1, 2.....items on my "list!"  There was a problem with the list, obviously......
1.  I took too long looking at more than what I went in for.
2.  I was hungry and EVERYTHING looked good!
Hence, the FULL grocery cart!  Those TWO items ended up costing me more than $100!  SIGH!  But, I did get some good deals!

While Ilene and I were in Georgia more than 3 weeks ago now, Bro. Dave showed me a Bible with Dr. Henry Morris' notes, so I ordered one while I was there.  It was SUPPOSED to arrive by June 14th!  I got a note saying "something had happened and the order was being re-shipped!"  It came today and other than being a bit beaten up, I see no reason for the big delay in delivery!  My name and address was perfectly legible.  Anyway, I'm glad I got it finally!  The Bible will go to church with me tonight!

Ilene shared some veggies with us that she had received from her cousin.  Besides the green beans, she gave us a zucchini squash and a couple of yellow squash and a couple of cucumbers.  We like to slice the veggies up, use olive oil and spices and roast the veggies in the oven.  We LOVE the charred side especially!  YUM!  The spices included meat tenderizer, Mrs. Dash Vegetable seasoning, and a salt and pepper mixture by "Jane."  (Something already in Mark's possession.)  I use aluminum foil in the pan and I don't have to wash it!  Cook the veggies at 425 for about 25 minutes, but that depends on how thinly you slice the veggies, or how blackened you like them!

Well, that and the grilled boneless, skinless chicken thighs I bought today took care of the hunger pangs!  Thank You, Lord, for supplying our every need with MUCH more than we deserve!
