Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

A Grand Time!

Sunday, July 28th,
What a busy week we had with the grandchildren!  Brad and Liz brought the kids to the house with the go cart in tow a week ago Sunday, on July 28th.

Watching a movie.

We stayed up really late on Sunday night, so we slept pretty late on Monday.

Monday, July 29th

We ate brunch of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast outside on the deck

And then we went to the woods to ride the 4-wheeler and go carts.
I drove Abby around in the go cart while Hannah rode the 4-wheeler and
Ryan drove their go cart around.

I ended up running into a tree.  Ryan took some spray
paint to mark the tree so we would know to put up the sign,
"Grandma's Tree!"

Abby crafting a picture when we took a break from riding.

Ryan had to return home for soccer practice. We ate at Arby's on the way to Liz's.

When we got back, we played in the craft shed for awhile.

Before bed we played Clue on the deck.

Tuesday, July 30th
We picked up Ilene, went to KFC then took the food to Salem Lake Park for a picnic.  The girls took one look at the lake and decided they didn't want to play in it!  Can't say that I blame them!

While at the park, the girls wanted to check out the
playground, but it was so stinking hot that we
decided to leave!

I told the girls that it was so hot we would go  to their house
to swim and wait for Ryan to return from practice after 8 p.m.
Ryan wasn't going to have practice on Wednesday, so he could
go back with us.

Wednesday, July 31st
Today we went to lunch at Randy's and then picked Noah up and went to Bolton Park's pool to swim.

Mark picked Kayden up before church and met us at church.  After we got home, we all played Uno Attack.  It was after 1 a.m. when we got in bed.

Thursday, August 1st
It was pretty late when we all got up.  After a big breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs and toast, most of the day was spent in the woods.

Ryan on the 4-wheeler

We had to return Ryan again for more soccer practice, but we stayed there until he got done and brought him back.  Kayden had to leave to go to her dad's.  Jessica and the kids came in around 8:30 and spent the night with Ilene.  Ryan went with Chance and Thad stayed with Abby.

Friday, August 2nd
Jessica brought the kids over after breakfast and we played in the woods.  Liz and Brad came, too.

Brad letting Abby drive.

We were having a grand time until.......

Something broke while Noah was driving the go cart.
Brad and the kids pushed the go cart out of the woods.

We packed up the hamburger and buns and chips and stopped and got potato salad and took the food to Liz's and Brad grilled the burgers.  The kids played in the pool.  Ryan had practice again.  And ALL of the kids stayed the night with the Palmers!  Jessica and I drove back home.

Saturday, August 3rd
It certainly was quiet again at the house with no kids!  We marinated chicken to be grilled.  Stopped for some corn on the cob and new potatoes and headed back to Brad and Liz's for the day.  The kids played in the pool.  Noah spent the night with Jessica's kids at Ilene's.  The Palmers stayed home so they could go to their church in the morning.  Jessica went to church with us so she would be that much closer to home!
Brad roasted some of the corn on the grill.  It was yummy!

Fun in the pool

Ryan climbing the tree by the trampoline.  And what a great climbing tree it is!

Hank doing what Hank does.....eating a stick.

Chance and Ryan doing flips on the trampoline

Even Araya did some flipping!

Brad had to take a piece off one of the legs and Ryan helped.

Sunday, August 3rd
We went to Ilene's for breakfast and then headed to church.  After church Jessica headed for home and Noah came back to the house with us.  After lunch, Noah and I went to the woods while Mark took a nap because he was not feeling great.  Then back to church in the evening and dropped Noah off at home on the way back from church.

What a great week and weekend!  Thank You, Lord, for the times we get to spend together with family!
