Simply Wonderful and Natural Beauty
I went to one of Ryan’s soccer games yesterday, Sept. 12,
2022. Rain was in the forecast, but a
small percentage of a chance during the game.
I left the house at 2, with my camera and my umbrella, so I could stop
to get something to eat for the first time of the day. Knowing my stomach likes bland, I stopped at
Chick-fil-A and got a grilled chicken sandwich meal. I finished my trip to the school as I ate the
waffle fries and then I ate the sandwich when I got to the school.
Abby came out to their car to change clothes after school; she
came over to the car and we hung out for a bit while her mom finished working
the carline. While we waited it began to
sprinkle rain. As we sat there the
sprinkles got heavier and heavier. We decided
to go into the school to find her mom who was back in the classroom with the
teacher she aided. We headed out to the
soccer field to watch the guys warm up.
As we headed out, the guys were headed back into the school because a
rain delay had been called. So we went
back into the gym to watch the girls play volleyball. As they finished up their warm-up we were
told the soccer game was back on. So we
headed back outside.
The sun was out, there was a nice breeze; it was perfect for
watching the soccer game. I’m glad I had
my umbrella because the sun actually got hot.
The game went well for Ryan’s team in the first half and they were in
the lead by 4 points, I believe. But
something happened in the second half and if the whistle had not been blown to
end the game they may have lost it! I
think the ending score was 5 to 4.
I parted ways with Elisabeth and family and headed
home. When I got about a mile up the
freeway I noticed a sign saying there was an accident up ahead. All of a sudden, the traffic was at a standstill. I had maneuvered myself to the far left lane
and was stuck. Google maps told me there
was a 40 minute delay! Googling back
roads home only resulted in getting off at the exit where the accident was and
the traffic was not letting anyone move from the lane they were in. So I turned on my audiobook and just went
with the flow of traffic!
I had sent Mark a text at 6:12 to let him know I was headed
home. It was between 7:30 – 7:45 when I
finally got home. So, what should have
taken about 45 minutes took twice as long.
That’s OK. I finished my
audiobook!
