Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

To Know Him Is To Love Him

I got a card in the mail that offered me a subscription to Sirius XM radio for 2 months for free.  No credit card was involved, so I did it!  So, Ilene and I have been enjoying listening to songs from the 50's.  (Yes, I remember quite a few of them from Mom and Dad playing 45rpm records, even though I was born in 1955.)

Anyway, we were out and about today and were listening to the station when a song played, "To Know Him Is To Love Him" sung by the Teddy Bears. Ilene said, "Makes me want my honey back!"  Yes, me, too!

To know, know, know him
Is to love, love, love him
Just to see him smile
Makes (made) my life worthwhile

To know, know, know him
Is to love, love, love him
And I do
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)

I'd be good to him
I'd bring love to him
Everyone says there'll come a day
When I'll walk along side of him

Yes, yes to know him
Is to love, love, love him
And I do
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)
(And I do, and I)

Why can't he see
How blind can he be?
Someday he will see that he
Was meant for me
Oh, oh yes

To know, know, know him

Is to love, love, love him
And I do

Thank You, LORD, for allowing me the privilege of knowing him!  I know others feel the same way about him.  I'm sure they are thankful, too!
