Left the house early today for errands. I decided that I would stop at Mega Thrift, since that is a thrift store that Tim does not enjoy going in. And, I discovered something new with their colored discount tags. Since we don't go there every week, like we used to, today when I looked to see what colored tag was 50% off the clothing, there were new signs that tells you if you buy articles of clothing with that day's particular color tag (up to $29.99) that items is NOT 50% off.......NOW you get it for $0.99!! THAT could be a game-changer! And here is an example of how. I purchased these 3 items for $2.97 today. IF the rule was still 50% off I would have had to pay $7.00!
I have no idea how long this version of discount has been going on, but I like it!!!
Since I was by myself, I decided to start at one end of the store and work myself to the other end, really rummaging through stuff more than I normally would. It paid off because I found several things buried beneath "stuff" that I wouldn't normally take the time to dig through! My favorite thing I found is something I will use for scrapbooking. It is a book of quotes by Maya Angelou. Brand new, too, with the Hallmark tag still on it for $9.99. Guess how much I paid? If you guessed $0.99 (as if you can't read the price tag clearly visible on the front!), you would be absolutely correct! CHA-CHING!!
Here's a couple of examples of the quotes included:
"God puts rainbows in the clouds so that each of us - in the dreariest and most dreaded moments - can see a possibility of hope." I like that! Who doesn't go through seemingly impossible things at some point in our lives? But, with God, ALL things are possible!
Here's another: "Courage allows the successful person to fail - and to learn powerful lessons from the failure - so that in the end, it was not a failure at all."
One more: "Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination, full of hope." This made me think of all that the Lord went through so He could die for us! Why? So WE could have hope for our future!
I spent about 3 1/2 hours at Mega Thrift before leaving to finish my actual errands! :D Tim called me around 3:00 to make sure I was OK. I was just about done at Walmart. I asked him what he was in the mood to eat for supper so I could pick it up while I was there. I was thinking along the lines of Stouffer's Lasagna. But, he suggested we go out to Applebee's. Works for me! So after I got home and we put away all the groceries and other stuff we left for Applebee's
Tim got the Fiesta Lime Chicken, which I really LOVE and get quite frequently!
However, what I have ordered several times of late is the Tomato Basil soup and 4-cheese Grilled Cheese. YUM! The lumps in the soup are the croutons they add to it. I love to dip my sandwich into the soup.
While we waited for our food, I got a picture of the two of us. LOVE this man! :D
And, that's it for today! Nite!

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen
