Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Rainy Days and Mondays

My first time washing dishes since Wednesday.  We ate out on Thursday, as usual, since it is Tim's day off.  Friday I made a big pot of chili that we have been  eating on, along with some leftovers.  So mainly the sink is full of bowls, glasses and silverware. I did have to wash a grilled cheese skillet and an egg skillet, too.

Rainy in the morning, but cleared up and got sunny.  The wind was vicious today!   I think it was in the low 50's.

This week's sign.  One of these days, the Lord will return and our work on earth will be done!  The sign reminded me of this old hymn:

O Land of Rest (We'll Work till Jesus Comes)by William Miller

O land of rest, for thee I sigh!
When will the moment come
When I shall lay my armor by
And dwell in peace at home?

We'll work till Jesus comes
We'll work till Jesus comes
We'll work till Jesus comes
And we'll be gathered home

To Jesus Christ I fled for rest
He bade me cease to roam
And lean for comfort on His breast
Till He conduct me home

I sought at once my Savior's side
No more my steps shall roam
With Him I'll brave death's chilling tide
And reach my heav'nly home

Nite!
