Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Birds of a Feather

I really enjoyed taking pictures of the birds that visited the bird feeders today!  The snow had an icy layer on top, so the birds walked on top of it eating the morsels of seed dropped from the feeders.  I saw more of a variety of birds today than I have seen in a long while.  Here's a list of the birds you will see in the pictures below.

Blue Bird
Blue Jay
Sparrow
House Finch
Chickadee
Nut Hatch
Wren
A pair of Downy Woodpeckers
A pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers
Towhee
Dark-eyed Junco

Enjoy the pictures!

Towhee and dark-eyed Junco skittered all over the icy snow.

It looks so beautiful!  We are supposed to get 3 more inches this Friday!

And, here are a couple of scrapbook pages I made today.  Details below.

Beautiful Winter

Journaling reads:  I captured pictures of a pair of Downy Wood peckers around the bird feeders today.  I didn’t realize I had taken pictures of a male and female.  The male is in the tree and is smaller than the male that is on the suet feeder.

Birds of a Feather

Journaling reads:  Lots of birds walking on top of the icy snow underneath the bird feeders.  They scurried here and there for the tiny morsels that fell to the ground from the feeders.  They were fun to watch, but it was so cold that I could not watch for long!
