Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

We went to Clarksville, VA today for the Pastor's Fellowship meeting for the group of pastors from NC, SC, VA. It was about 2 1/2 hours from the house. On the way home, we were about 10 minutes from the house at 10:20 p.m. when we hit backed up traffic in I-40 West. We sat for 2 hours before Tim decided he was tired of sitting. So we got the atlas and tried to "feel" our way home via back roads. I say "feel" our way because every time we turned Monica on, she wanted to take us back to I-40! And we knew that wasn't a possibility, so we kept traveling until we got lost and turned her on. Then she got us home in about 15 minutes! So, the trip home ended up taking twice as long! We didn't get home until almost 1 a.m.!

I hate when that happens! In our case we don't have aGPS so I am the voice of Monica telling the driver which alternate routes to try. Makes for some interesting "seat of the pants" experiences. :)
