Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

January 31, 2009

Well, the first month of the year is gone. Time sure passes by quickly! The older I get, the faster it goes, too! Today we visited one of our church ladies in the hospital. She is in for testing for awful headaches she has been having! I have problems with sinus headaches, but fortunately I have not ended up in the hospital with them! They have lead to sinus infections before, which causes a really nice headache! But as soon as the antibiotics kick in, the headache is gone! Anyway, we got back from the hospital and looked up the address of someone who had visited the church recently so we could pay them a visit. I googled it, printed out the directions, got to the street, but could not find the house. That was kind of strange! So we headed back home and I started laundry and working on the computer to get a couple of layouts done. I actually have one of February's challenges done already! LOL!

Today's page is created with Sophia Davies' "Mocha Mint" kit found at the following link in her Digitals Store: http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/digitals/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=3035

January 30, 2009

I scrapped a mega streak yesterday to get all of the challenges done at Digitals! And, I did it! I went to bed at 1:30 with a sore throat and a headache! Woke up today with the same........plus a nice present awaiting me in the kitchen. A sink full of dirty dishes! I sipped on some Theraflu for cold and sore throat while I read my Bible. Put the dishes in the dishwasher, without the usual rinsing first, and pushed the button to on and went back to bed! That was maybe 10:30. I tossed and turned and finally got up at 12:30. Ate some chicken noodle soup, cleaned up my e-mails and just messed for most of the day. Fixed a CD label for our church CDs that will be printed and given to the shut-ins, etc. Fixed dinner, which came way too early after getting up so late and did my page for today's post.

I kept the layout very simple today. I used Amanda Thorderson's, "Butterflies are Free" kit found at the following link in her store at Digitals: http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/digitals/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=13754

January 29, 2009

The sun is shining brightly today, Hallelujah! The temperature is supposed to reach 50! The birds were singing, even though there was a nice frost this morning! But, it was just a nice way to start the day!

This layout was created with Bannerwoman's "An Array of Flowers" and I also used a template I got from her blog.

January 28, 2009

I got a little behind since I woke up with a sinus headache on Wednesday and didn't get out of bed til about 9:30. After reading my Bible, I had to run some errands. Then I worked on what to fix for dinner, then it was time to fix dinner and then time to get ready for church. So, it was just one of those days. I started working on this layout after church and had it done all but the journaling, basically, but gave it up and opted for the bed instead, lol!

Anyway, this layout was created using Cindy Ritter's "Precious Firsts" kit and a template, that I free at some point, (adjusted a little bit to suit my needs for the journaling) by Amber Reimer at Go Digital Scrapbooking.

Today's post is created with Bannerwoman's new kit up in the Digitals Store, "An Array of Flowers" at the following link: http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/digitals/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=13931

The title for today's post, "Looking for Sunshine and Flowers in the Rain" is a bit lengthy, but that is the way I feel with the rain today! But, it could be worse! Up north in WV they got 5 inches of snow last night! Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of rain! Bring on the Spring flowers!

January 26, 2009

Today was a full day! Bible reading, walking at the mall, with the rest of the day spent hearing God's Word at a sister church in the area. The services began at 2:00 p.m. At 3:00 we took a break for snacks. At 3:30 we started the services again. Two preachers later, at 5:00, we took a break for dinner. We were treated at a nearby restaurant and left in time for the evening service to begin at 7:00. The service ended at around 8:30. A great day in God's house! Not only did we receive physical food, but lots of spiritual food!

This layout created using one of Bannerwoman's template freebies found on her blog along with her "My Little Lady Bug" kit.

January 25, 2009

Today being Sunday, the evening meal is pretty sparse sometimes! It is usually just whatever is left in the fridge from the week. But, sometimes we are in the mood for pizza. I buy a 12" 4-meat pizza from Aldi's for $2.49 (so you can imagine how much meat is actually on it, lol) and add more pepperoni and then add real bacon bits and diced onions and green peppers. YUM! A delicious pizza for maybe $4.00!

I used one of the quick pages I created from Bannerwoman's "My Little Lady Bug" kit. The colors match perfectly with the colors in the pizza, don't you think? Are you hungry yet?

Esther 2:12
Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)

Proverbs 31:30
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Here is my Project 365 page for today. My Beauty Regime. I used Cindy Ritter's "I Heart You" kit that is a daily download going on right now in Digitals Store.

January 23, 2009

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
Romans 10:13-15

Today's post is of my pastor and husband. Not every woman is previleged to be married to her pastor! I am so glad the Lord brought us together! Thank You, Lord!

The kit I used is Cindy Ritter's "I Heart You" and is the daily download at Digitals right now at the following link: http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/digitals/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104&products_id=13852

January 22, 2009

We drove about an hour north of the house today to visit the hometown of Andy Griffith, Mt. Airy, NC - otherwise known as Mayberry, RFD. It was Tim's "proclaimed" day off from church work, so he decided we needed a change of pace.....he usually continues to do church work and all I do (when we are not doing church work) is scrapbooking. We had a delightful time and the day was warm, 44 degrees, and the sun was shining!

I used Amanda Thorderson's "Butterflies are Free" kit, which was the daily download at Digitals the first part of the month.

Happy Hump Day to everyone!
Today's post is something totally new for me because the elements I used to create the layout are elements made by yours truly! That's right! I made all the elements you see! No, not extravagant, but it is a start! I want to add a few more "things" to the kit and then I will offer it to anyone who wants it as a freebie! I really would LOVE to get your feedback. And, yes, I really would love your critique! Please see the preview of what I have so far below my layout.

I also remembered today why it is that I love the digi scrapping world! It is so much quicker to "stick" a photo on a page digitally compared to physically on paper! My new motto is:
"GIVE ME DIGI OR GIVE ME DEATH!"

Pray for our new national leaders. Especially that they will allow God to lead them as they lead this great nation of ours, the United States of America!

Today's post is from a busy day. From the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun, things happened! Snow! We were to get 1 to 3 inches. We got just a dusting! So, now that we have gotten some, that is enough for me! LOL! There were wrecks in the little bit of snow we had, so DH decided we would not get out on the road to go to the mall to walk. That was fine by me! After my Bible reading, I took a shower, trimmed my hair, cleaned up the dishes, loaded the dish washer, swept the dining room and kitchen floors, took some snow pictures and took lots of miscellaneous pictures to work with at some point in Photoshop Elements to use in scrapbooking. Most of the day I spent scanning in ideas for scrapbooking.

Then, at around 11:30, DH and I fixed lunch and sat in front of the TV to watch the inauguration of the 44th President, Barack Obama, the first black President ever to be voted into the office. So, it was an historical day!

I used a template of my own for the layout. And I used an add on mini kit Amanda created especially for this historical event. It is a freebie on her blog at the following link: http://flamingo-amanda.blogspot.com/

January 19, 2009

Today's post is a view out our front door. Actually, a couple of things you can see out our front door is the tree that is very winter-dead and the church sign that DH changes from week to week. I put the two sights together and cleverly used DH's sign for my verse!

I used Cindy Ritter's "Just 4 Fun" kit found in her Digitals store. Click on the Date Title above to be taken to the kit. It really is a fun kit to work with! Lots of fun papers and elements!

"This is the day the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
Have you ever really noticed that this verse is actually a command for us and not just a suggestion! I have to continually remind myself of this because I am prone to complain about one thing or another. I complain about the weather or some little ache or pain. Actually, I should be thankful and rejoice that the Lord has allowed me to live another day on His beautiful earth and in this great country! I could have been born in any other place on earth and it would not have been as great as the USA! Sure, our country needs a lot of prayer for it's leaders! But, I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

Anyway, my post for today is, once again, about food! I like using my crockpot for our Sunday lunches. I can start the meal the night before and let it cook all night with minimal final "fixin's" before we sit down to eat!

I used Cindy Ritter's "Aged Elegance" kit found in her Digitals Store at the following link:
Aged Elegance Link

Hope you have a wonderful week! And remember to REJOICE every day the Lord gives you!

January 17, 2009

There is only one thing I dislike about doing laundry. I don't mind sorting it. I don't mind drying it and hanging it immediately so the clothes don't wrinkle too badly. I don't mind, too much, folding it. But, I don't like putting it away! I have this attitude of, I'm just gonna wear the same things again, so why not just leave it in the basket and drag it out as I use it! Anyway! I folded the laundry this morning, but it's still sitting in the baskets! Guess I'll do it when DH is looking for his socks!

I used the free daily download kit that is available in the Digitals' store, "Butterflies are Free" by Amanda Thorderson. I'm not doing a good job with this kit. I don't know if it isn't my style, or what! I need to check out the gallery and see what other people are doing with it! I think I'm trying to put too much stuff on one page! Well, I'll try again tomorrow! This one is done and I'm not gonna touch it again! LOL!

January 16, 2009

Today's post is about a part of my day that I am very thankful for and take great advantage of it! Every morning I am afforded a nice, leisurely time of Bible reading! When I was working, I would rush through a chapter, usually not remembering what I had read 15 minutes later! Now, it is not uncommon for me to read 3 or 4 chapters in a sitting! And the best part is being able to savor the words I have read! I am more blessed by my readings and I know my Heavenly Father is happier with my fruitful time with Him! Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of being able to stay home and have the opportunity to hunger and thirst after Your Word!

I created today's layout with a new kit by Bannerwoman called, "My Little Ladybug." You can find her kit at Digitals by clicking on the Date Heading above. In the right hand column at the top are some FREE quick pages that I created using Banner's kit. Also included are some templates of mine that I used to create the quick pages with. Click on each preview for the download link. They will only be available for a short time, so get them today! Comments appreciated!

January 15, 2009

I finally remembered to take my camera with me to the mall where hubby and I walk every morning. I'll be glad for warmer weather so we can move our walk outside! However, I'd much rather be walking at the mall than on a BORING treadmill!

I used the Free daily download kit found in Digitals' store by Amanda Thorderson, "Butterflies are Free." It is a great, sorta funky, kit with bright colors! That's hubby streaking by as I take a picture!

January 14, 2009

Above is my weekly, 2-page spread for the 365 Project. Now, I'm on schedule! It's all about food again today! I was in the mood to fix something special for hubby tonight for supper, so I decided that it would be meatloaf! He LOVES meatloaf.......just not MY meatloaf, LOL! Well, I found a great meatball recipe that he likes, so I'm going to make a meatloaf from that recipe! I'll let you know how he likes it! I, personally, could do without meatloaf because it give me heartburn something terrible! But, I really liked the meatballs, and they really didn't give me heartburn too terribly! So, could it be that I might like the meatloaf, too?! Too much to count on, I know! But, I have faith in this recipe!

This is another of the set of quick pages you can get for FREE through January in the Digitals' store! Better hurry! January is very quickly slipping by! Yes! Tomorrow it will be half over already! WOW!

January 13, 2009

Does anyone else get the "snackies" at night? Why does it always happen right before bed time? Well, since it happens quite frequently, I decided to do one of my Project 365 pages on it! Now, I would MUCH rather be snacking on chocolate, you understand! However, my NEXT favorite snack is popcorn! And, I have no problem putting away the entire bag! If I have to, I will share some with hubby! Fortunately, he isn't as big a fan of popcorn as I am!

I know this post is late! I got busy working on some other things for some designers and it was 12:30 a.m. before I shut the computer down! So, I went to sleep with this layout on my mind! LOL! OK, this is another quick page of the set of 4 that you can get for free in Digitals' store (see the post at the top in the right hand column!). Patti Senter has done a mahvalous job on these quick pages! And, actually my post for the 14th is another one of the quick pages!

January 12, 2009

Today's layout was created with the free daily download of Amanda Thorderson's, "Butterflies are Free" in the Digitals store. If you click on the Date above, you will be taken to the free kit in the store. You will have to go to the store daily for another piece of the kit.

DH and I started back on our daily walking at the mall and I meant to take the camera with me to get a picture, but forgot it! We were very busy doing church work today, but I forgot to get any pictures! :( I'm slipping! Well, I am doing some work for a couple of the designers at Digitals, making quick pages, that I will be posting here on Friday as FREEBIES!! So, don't forget to come back! I will be including a free template with each quick page (4 of them) that I made the quick page with.

My page today is a print screen of one of those quick pages I was working on today. But, since I am not supposed to let you see it til Friday, I had to scribble most of it out! Be sure to come back on Friday and I will tell you who the designer of the kit is! Hugs!

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!" Psalm 118:24

I hope that each and everyone of you are rejoicing in the Lord today! What an AWESOME God we have!

Today's post is easy because I used a quick page created by Sophia Davies with her "More Than Words" kit. If you click on the Title Date above, you will be directed to the quick pages in her store at Digitals.

DH had a birthday on December 18th and the church he now pastors "caters" to their pastor, so I've been told! But, DH does not like to draw attention to himself, so he has even gone so far as to leave his birthday off of the church calendar of events for 2009! Well, the people were determined to celebrate his birthday, even though some unexpected events came up that caused us to cancel the dinner a couple of times. But, we finally pulled it off! And the best part was that we were able to do it without him knowing about it until he saw the people bringing their dishes of food to the church this morning. He asked the church treasurer, "Is something going on that I need to know about?" LOL! So, I told the treasurer to go ahead and make the announcement. You can read the rest of the story on the layout!

January 10, 2009

Saturday! Not a whole lot going on today. Didn't really get a whole lot done around the house, either! Just one of those days. Got a few groceries, took some items to a Goodwill drop off, spent a couple of hours with one of the former pastor's daughters, did a couple loads of laundry, fixed supper, put dishes in the dishwasher and now I'm playing on the computer! I guess I did get a little bit done today, after all!

OK, on to today's post. DH and I basically grew up in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and Northern Kentucky. One of the GREAT things about that is SKYLINE CHILI!!!!! Some people refer to their chili as Cincinnati Chili. Unfortunately, we have not had a Skyline near us since we left the Cincinnati area in 1997! :( But, we did find a comparable Cincinnati Chili mix that we like really well! We bought LOTS of these packets when we lived in West Virginia over the past 11 years. When we moved to North Carolina in August of 2008, we soon found out that North Carolina not only does not have any Skyline restaurants, they don't carry Cincinnati Chili mix either! WOE IS ME! But, where there is a will, there is a way! Our daughter who still lives in WV gets the Cincinnati Chili mix packets for us! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Elisabeth!!! And, because of her doing that for us, we can STILL enjoy our Cincinnati Chili! So, today's layout is about the Cincinnati Chili that I fixed for our supper tonight!

I used a quick page created by Patti Senter at Digitals. She is one ROCKIN' quick page creator, I'll tell you that right now! This quick page is created with pieces from the January Challenge Bonus Kit at Digitals. You need to go to that forum and check out the challenges so you can get your free pieces to the MEGA kit! And, the best part about the quick page is that it is free! And there are 3 other quick pages that are free in the store at Digitals! Just click on the preview in the right hand column at the top and you will be taken to the free set of quick pages that Patti created! The quick pages will only be free through January! Hugs!

January 9, 2009

SURPRISE! And Happy Friday!
I have a couple of free templates (along the right hand side of the blog) that I would like to share with you today, if you are interested. Just click on them and you will be directed to a 4Shared link for the downloads. Be sure to grab both of them!

I'll be back a little later on today to post today's layout for my Project 365 post! Enjoy the Freebies! I would love to hear your comments on them! Hugs!

I used Sophia's "Mocha Mint - REDUX" kit again for today's layout!

Week One - January 1 - 7, 2009

This layout is a culmination of the first week of the year. Some of the pictures are different than the one used during my daily posts and some are the same because I only took one picture on those days! I'll have to try to remember to take at least two per day from now on! :)

I used Maddy Fernandez' "Summer Leisure" kit found in her store at digitals. Since this is a double page, it is going to appear very small! I believe if you click on the picture, you will be directed to the full size in another screen:

January 8, 2009

One week already gone of our new year! How time flies when you are having fun, right? Life is an adventure and the Lord put us here to honor and glorify Him, #1. But, He also wants us to live abundantly and enjoy the life He has given to us! I think doing this project throughout the year will remind me of the blessings and the joy of life in Christ that I have! I don't know why we should have to be reminded of that fact, but we do!

Anyway, my post for today is something to share that will hopefully be beneficial to lots of people at some time in the course of life! You can read the journaling on the page to see what I am talking about!

I used Sophia Davies' "Mocha Mint-REDUX" found in her store at Digitals. Hugs! til tomorrow!

January 7, 2009

Hello Again!
Today's post is a little different. My daughter sent me an e-mail this morning and attached was a school project her son did this past November while he was at school. It may have been homework, but in any case, since she sent it to me today it became part of my life today and is now part of my Project 365! Sounds like a legit reason for me, doesn't it to you? :) I did manage to include a little picture of the two of them, LOL! Aren't they both adorable!

I used a new kit of Amanda Thorderson's, "Snowbird" (which, incidentally is 50% off in her store at Digitals!). See you tomorrow!

January 6, 2009

OK, so I didn't actually sleep very much in my bed last night after all! I went to bed at 1:00 a.m. and at 4:00 a.m. I woke up to a horrific headache from the sinus pressure that had built up! It hurt so bad that I was shaking from the pain! Took some medicine and tried to lay back down to sleep some more. No use! So, back to my recliner I went! I thought about how I was definitely gonna have to go to the Dr. for the sinus infection I am sure I have! I was extremely hot! Must be running a fever, which proves infection, right?! Took my temperature......98.8! Can't be! Took it again.......98.8! OK, so maybe I don't have a sinus infection! Who knows at this point! Long story short, the headache FINALLY (KNOCK ON WOOD) is gone for the moment, for the most part! I can tell it is still there, especially when I cough! OUCH!

OK, enough whining about my ailments! Time for me to post my layout for today. I've been in contact with my dear friend, Sophia Davies, to ask how to add Blog links and other links to this blog. She gave me some instructions and, VOILA! Done! So, I've said that to say this......today's layout is about working on my blog. Very simple for another day in my life of 2009!

I used Maddy Fernandez' "Summer Leisure" kit found in her store at Digitals (which you can see a link to the right now, YEAH!!! THANKS, Sophia!):

January 5, 2009

Well, I'm gonna sleep in my own bed for a change tonight to see if I can breathe without my head totally plugging up! So, that is gonna leave the recliner empty tonight! YEAH!!
OK, here is the layout I created for the celebration! I used Sophia Davies' "Mocha Mint - REDUX" found in her store at Digitals:

Monday, January 5, 2009

January 4, 2009

OK! I'm ALMOST up-to-date with my posts! I still have to take my picture for the 5th, but I know what it's gonna be, so no problem!
Since I've been sick this first week of the year, I'm using it to my advantage in my resolve to create a layout for every day of the year! I found the most hilarious poem to go with my layout today! Check it out and see if you agree with me!
I created this layout using Sophia Davies' "Mocha Mint - REDUX" kit that is on sale for 50% off in her store at Digitals! Run your little mouse over there quick! :)

January 3, 2009

WOOHOO! Moving right along!
Here we are with my layout for the 3rd day of the year! I haven't felt great this entire year (LOL!) and today I have the Wintertime Blues!

Amanda Thorderson has the perfect kit for my layout, too! You can find "Snowbird" in her store at Digitals. (Did I mention that I am on Amanda's CT?)

January 2, 2009

Well, here is my post for January 2nd (which happens to also be my oldest baby's birthday - Happy Birthday, Jessica! She turn(ed) 29 today!).

This 2-pager was also created using Maddy Fernandez' "Summer Leisure" kit. (Did I mention that I am on Maddy's CT!)

January 1, 2009

Happy New Year, Everyone!
This will be my attempt to keep my resolution to scrap a page a day throughout the year of 2009! Thanks to my good friend, Sophia Davies, (who I am a CT member for and who is a designer at Digitals) for encouraging me and supporting my efforts! I will be counting on her blogging expertise to help me make this look like a FANTASTIC blog! LOL!

OK, here is my first 2-pager layout of the year. These layouts were created using Maddy Fernandez' "Summer Leisure" kit found in her store at Digitals:
