Instead of making resolutions this year, I am going to work on areas in my spiritual life that need improvement:
1. Memorize scripture
2. Pray more and be more fervent
3. Read my Bible more
I'm putting the failures of 2016 behind me and moving forward to the new year!
I read Isaiah 43:16-19 today. Verse 18 and 19 read: Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
That's good enough for me! There is hope and another chance to get it right, whatever the"it" might be in my life and your life. And the best part is that, if we let Him, God will help us! He wants to do a new thing in our lives! I'm ready, are you?
Thank You, Lord, for new opportunities!

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen
