Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

I had some errands to run today and had some groceries to get, too. Our mail is delivered pretty late in the day. It was 2:30 to 3:00 when I got back and the mail was just getting there. And the chances are usually pretty good that she will be delivering a package of reading material for Tim. Between birthdays and Father's Day and Christmas when the kids load him up with Amazon dot com money, he keeps the books coming!

I'm so glad to hear that! Better than a pile of old ties, or some other present just as lame, huh. :)

We used to joke whenever the UPS truck pulled up. My hubby would say, "Did I tell you that I ordered a book?" whether he had or not because it seemed the UPS truck was making many deliveries to our house and most of them were for him.

The worst part about a preacher and his books is moving them when he changes churches!
