Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Today we got up, showered and left by 7:30 and headed to the outer banks. It was a 2 hour trip. We stopped at Food Lion when we arrived and got a club sandwich, chips and drinks for lunch as we had not eaten breakfast yet. We ate when we got to the Wright Brothers' Memorial. After we saw everything there, we headed for Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. On the way we stopped at the Bodie Lighthouse. I got the idea of taking several angles of the lighthouse from a gift shop we were in. I plan to do one like this for the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, too. Also for the Wright Brothers' Memorial. We headed back to Greenville around 5:00 and stopped at Plymouth and ate supper at a Mexican Restaurant, but the food was disappointing. We got back to the hotel at about 8:15. It was a great day!

When we were changing churches in 1999 we took a few days for vacation at OBX. We saw the Hattaras lighouse being moved (no actual moving on the day we were there) but we were not able to go up inside it. We'd like to go back and see it now that it is in its new location.

I bought cross stitch kits at the Wright giftshop for the Bodie and Hattaras lights that Lisa and I stitched together. I've since made them into pillows that sit on my bed because our bedroom is done in lighthouses.

Thanks for the memories. Good times!
