Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Safely Through Another Week

Does it bother you when you go to church and hardly anyone makes the effort, for whatever reason, to come for the Sunday School hour?  It does me!  Forget the fact that teachers have worked all week preparing lessons and forget the fact that it is commanded that we "forsake not the assembling of ourselves together."  And I'm not talking about people who are sick, or shut in, or have to work.  It just seems to me that Christians should be so thankful that the LORD chose to save them that they would WANT to be in His house as much as possible!!!   Can you say.....GRATITUDE!!!   And how about the mid-week services?  Again, I'm not talking about those who have to work....but the rest of God's people should be in His house to get the spiritual refueling they need (from God's man who has studied HARD)  to carry them through the rest of the week!  ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!   Anyway.....my blessing for today:  thanks to mom and dad who made sure we were in church every time the doors were open, come hail or high water, so we would come to realize how important His church is in our lives!  Do I hear an AMEN on that!

Here's my Providence 365 page for today, using my kit, Precious Gifts.
