Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Busy Day Off

Thursdays, as most of you know, is Tim's day off.  Normally we hit the thrift stores in the area, eat lunch out, come back to the house for awhile, then go back out for supper.  Today was a little bit different.

Tim had an appointment with the dermatologist at 9:15 which means they want him there by 9:00.  So we left the house around 8:40.  Normally, I would have stayed home for this appointment, but there is a thrift store over near where the dermatologist is, so I went.

One of the side effects of the treatment that Tim is currently on is little skin cancers popping up that they freeze with nitroglycerin.  Today they found only one spot on his right ear.  He has followup visits every 3 months.  Usually just from the waist up.  Next month is time for a full body check.  We are not sure if he will still be on this treatment with the injections or not.  The doctor told Tim that frequently the melanoma returns quickly when this treatment ends.  Please pray that God sees fit not to stop that from happening.

We went to a couple of thrift stores after that and then went to KFC for lunch.

"The Imitation Game" was playing at one of the cinemas here in Winston, so we went to see that.  It is based on a true story.  "In 1939, newly created British intelligence agency MI6 recruits Cambridge mathematics alumnus Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) to crack Nazi codes, including Enigma -- which cryptanalysts had thought unbreakable. Turing's team, including Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), analyze Enigma messages while he builds a machine to decipher them. Turing and team finally succeed and become heroes, but in 1952, the quiet genius encounters disgrace when authorities reveal he is gay and send him to prison."

My headache was very mild when I awoke today!  However, it got stronger and stronger as the day progressed.  We had a hard frost here, so I dressed in layers, which proved to be a big mistake at the cinema as it was very warm!  The heat did not help my headache any at all!

We went to a couple more thrift stores after the movie and then headed for home where I cooked some hamburgers and we had fries to go with them.

While I cleaned up the kitchen, Tim fixed us each a cup of hot chocolate!  YUM!  Now I have taken my PMs and will hit the sack pretty soon!

Nite!
