My sweet friend, a sister in the Lord, reminded me of another great song to help get me through tough days, scary days, of caring for my dear husband.
I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
I don't know about tomorrow
I just live for day to day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For it's skies may turn to gray
I just live for day to day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For it's skies may turn to gray
I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead
Refrain:
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know Who holds tomorrow
And I know Who holds my hand
I don't seem to understand
But I know Who holds tomorrow
And I know Who holds my hand
Ev'ry step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined
There the sun is always shining
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky
Refrain:
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know Who holds tomorrow
And I know Who holds my hand
I don't seem to understand
But I know Who holds tomorrow
And I know Who holds my hand
There are so many things in life that we do not understand. Why this or that comes along. You fill in the blank. We all have them.
I'm so thankful to have the Lord in my life on days like today. For no apparent reason, Tim woke up from his nap with a 100 degree temperature. He said he feels exhausted, even after a 3 hour nap.
He has been running a low-grade fever off and on since Thursday evening, I believe. Last night before bed it was 100.3. After the gamma knife procedure on Tuesday the nurses gave us some instructions to follow as far as keeping the areas clean where they bolted the halo onto his skull. One of the instructions was that if he ran a fever off 100.5 to call them. I asked him if he wanted me to call. He had just taken his bedtime PM meds and said to wait and see what happens. So, he was fine this morning. No matter what he says, I believe I will contact the doctor tomorrow just to give him a heads up on what is going on.
In the meantime, please pray for this matter. I try to keep my fears at bay by quoting scripture, like, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee." Psalm 56:3 Or, "Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee." Isaiah 26:3 The Lord brings different ones to mind at different times. Isn't God good to do that? That is one of the ways He holds my hand! What would I do without the Lord? Indeed, I would be a basket case!
Tim was strong enough to stand for a few minutes to make the announcements, etc, but not really strong enough to stand through the songs.
We were privileged to have Brother David Parks preach for us this morning. The Parks family are a very special family. Brother Ernst Parks preached at this church 42 years before retiring. Tim is only the second pastor this church has ever had. But, the Parks family are still important to the church. When they have their family reunion in June, we get to hear them sing, too. Wonderful, godly family!
The oldest son, Daniel, is missing as he was preaching at another church. |
