Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Today's church services proved to be a GREAT and BLESSED start of the new year! Besides the great messages, a couple who has attended the services almost as long as we have been there, and who are more faithful than some of our members, came forward in the morning invitation to announce that they would like to become members of our church! Praise the LORD! and Thank You, LORD! We have several attenders who are not members. I don't understand this other than, like this couple, the Lord is in control and His time table is not the same as ours! So, while I know DH would LOVE for all of our regular attenders to become members, and so would I, I'll just let the Lord do His work as He sees fit! But, I am very thankful for the baptism that was performed on New Year's Eve, too! We gave him the right hand of fellowship and welcomed him officially to the church family today! I pray these moves are just a sprinkling of the many blessings our church family will experience this year!

New subject.....
Back when I was working on Hannah's Barbie doll clothes, I mentioned that I checked out the sewing machines at Walmart and there was the cutest little purple craft sewing machine that I felt would handle any sewing project I would be doing. But the reason I didn't buy it was because I only saw that it was battery operated, which turned me off totally. Well, I kept thinking about that little sewing machine and made up my mind to check it out again to see if it was adaptable to electricity. So, when the girls gave me money for Christmas I decided to check it out while I was in Walmart yesterday. And, to my great pleasure, it did come with an AC adapter AND a foot pedal! WOOHOO! I was in business! I bought it without a second thought. Now, I want to show it to you. The first picture is of the machine itself with the foot pedal and the AC adapter sitting to the right of it. The second picture is for comparison of size between it and the little battery operated craft sewer that I used for the Barbie doll clothes. My hand will hopefully give you some idea of the size of both machines. The new Pixie by Singer is bigger than the mini, but it is not HUGE as a regular sewing machine, either! As a matter of fact, the AC adapter feels like it weighs as much as the sewing machine, LOL! Also, the flash of the camera whitened out the actual deep purple color of the Pixie. Jessica and Hannah will LOVE it just because it is purple! I can't wait to try it out! I'll give you an update when I do!
