Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

The Cross

"They put Him to death by hanging him on a tree, but God raised Him on the third day and made him to appear, not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with Him after he rose from the dead."  Acts 10:39b-41 ESV

This morning during my Quiet time, I read from Acts 10 where Peter was summoned by Cornelius and the Lord had just given Peter the vision of the unclean animals being let down from heaven in a sheet and the Lord told Peter to eat, but Peter would not because they were unclean to the Jews.  The Lord told Peter not to call them unclean.  So, when He realized Cornelius was Gentile, Peter knew what the vision meant.  The Jews didn't think the Gentiles could be saved, but God was showing them that was untrue.  Anyway, as I was reading where Peter was preaching about the cross of Christ to them, I noticed this shadow from the sun shining through the window.  I couldn't help but take a picture!

It was a beautiful day today hitting about 60 degrees.  But, it is chilly again tonight and to be cooler tomorrow.

I got some great shots of the moon during the day, too.

The picture of the buzzards flying was a shot that was zoomed in as far as I could zoom in.  Taken out over the lake several miles away!  LOVE the zoom on my camera!

Jessica had a financial meeting to attend tonight, so she asked if I could take care of supper.  So I made a meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli.  I tried to find the recipe with applesauce and a sweet sauce on top that I used to make when the kids were younger and still at home.  But, my taste buds were very disappointed!  This was definitely not the recipe that I remember!  I'll have to see if I have that recipe around somewhere in the cookbooks that are still at the parsonage.  The mashed potatoes were good, however!  :D

Tomorrow Jessica and I are going thrifting!  Have a great day!
