Excerpt: The Pursuit of God, The Human Thirst for the Divine, A.W. Tozer

O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, The Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wondered so long. In Jesus' name. Amen

Fun Day

No matter where we go thrifting we have a fun day.  Today took us to Greensboro.  We left here around 9:30 and got back around 2:30, I think.  We decided to eat leftovers for supper and go to KFC for lunch on Sunday.

My battery to my camera died while we were out, but here are the pictures I got before it died:
My breakfast of toast, blackberry jelly and bacon.

A load of pine needle bales headed somewhere.

Taken at one of the thrifts.

Spring colors

New restaurant for us.  We both got their Italian Sub, which was similar to Arby's Loaded Italian sub.  I got mine warmed, Tim got his cold.  Chips on the side.

It was yummy!

The trees were all blooming down the center of this divided highway.

Here's my goody bargains for the day.  Closer look below.

So, I started a project tonight.  I had a wooden tray that I wanted to paint or do something with.  Here's what I have so far:

Step 1:  I found the center I wanted to use in the tray from a calendar I had in 2014.  I cut it to size.

Step 2:  Try to figure out which colors I wanted to put in the bottom margin and around the sides and edges.

Used painter's tape to protect the bottom as I paint the sides.

For the sides, I mixed these together.  I don't like the orange, so I will redo it tomorrow.

The edge is more of a blue violet than blue.
I'll keep you posted on how this is coming along.

I also started a baby blanket tonight for a baby shower I will be attending in a couple of weeks.
One skein of yarn, size 9 needles.  The border is knit.  The pattern is purl 4 knit 1 every other row and knit the whole row every other row.  I'm about 1/4 of the way done.  It will be a small blanket.  If I have time, I want to do another one with bigger needles and a little different pattern.  I'll show you a picture tomorrow of the one I started today.
